Les never said "I don't give a damn" in regards to the possibility of Chavis leaving. Coach was asked "do you know how this will look?" by some media member and he said "I don't know and frankly I don't give a damn."

Les had a very personal relationship with Chavis so he wasn't going to jump to conclusions about tampering or anything of the sorts. Les trusts his assistant coaches and Chavis threw away everything by handling the whole ordeal so poorly. You better believe that Miles was very hurt when he found out about Chavis talking to Sumlin prior to the bowl game.

Still, I don't think there is bad blood between Miles and Chavis. The people that Chavis hurt the most were his players. Miles only brings in guys that work well in the family environment that he promotes and Chavis basically broke the home. It was actually a blessing in disguise that we didn't get Coach O or Kevin Steele before this point in time because both of them have become better men and coaches now.

So come the A&M game, you'll see the interviews where Kleinpeter will ask guys if Chavis leaving will affect them and they'll say no. Miles doesn't preach vendetta or revenge against people and it won't matter because the defense isn't playing against the defense.

That's just how I see all of this though.

ETA: This will however kill A&M's defensive recruiting. I don't think LSU does any negative recruiting but other schools in the SEC do. Recruits will learn some way or another about how messy Chavis was.

Lack of adjustments? Lineups? Play call? Where did he error?

Notre Dame came out in 2 TE heavy seats all game, and we we came out with 5 DBs all game.

We made no adjustments, and Notre Dame jumped on out formation and abused it. And either Chavis had a stroke, or just didn't give a frick, because it was completely out of character to just ignore what Notre Dame was doing.

Chavis was always just a hired gun. And an average gun at that, in my opinion.

I hope the new staff is better prepared and more disciplined. They are light years better at recruiting.

Chavis has opened himself up to all kinds of questions, even questions of character.

LSU headed into the final stretch of recruiting with a bowl loss and Chavis heads off to recruit for a divisional rival in a neighboring state.

I'd love to sit in the bar at the next coaches convention and hear other head & assistant coaches discuss how Chavis' departure when down.

How would other coaches view this situation?

Maybe that was what broke the camels back.. Chavis was tired of coaching a strong D when the offense was VERY ineffective almost every game against quality teams...

this theory sucks. so it was our offenses fault that chavis left. that's horse shite. what about our offense the year before? you know, the year our defense sucked. chavis left for DIFFERENT REASONS. certainly money but there was something else. there are to many things to speculate on, but one year of a crappy offense is NOT one of them.

quote:

They had their chances against ND, But it looked to me like it was the same D that played against MSU and AU.....

yea, a shitty defense. if they "showed up" and "played the best they could" you are blind. ND controlled the clock and systematically made the first downs and kept the ball away from our offense. NOTRE DAME DOMINATED OUR DEFENSE.

how people can't see that jonh chavis basically mailed it in after the 2011 year is beyond me. our D gradually went sour, and it started and ended with the DL and LB's.

imo, Chavis should have been fired.

Well the 2014 Offense left a lot to be desired... Why Chavis left??? don't fricking care.....BUT the offense last year certainly didn't help him wanting to stay.... Hes gone. So what lets move on.....

Is that Chavis' fault?????

And so should haveMiles for all the stupid mistakes that have taken away possible national championship chance s we have had with this much talent. There is no way a guy that makes THAT much money should have such a shitty situation at the most important position on the field............. His offensive gameplan LOST the game @ Auburn in 2006. His lack of getting RP OFF the team in 208 was inexcusable and cost him having control over that team along with the duel DC embarrassment. teams underachied bigtime in 2009 and 2010. The NC game against Bama was a discrace. His team was not ready and he made ZERO adjustments to even be competitive.... His bonehead playcalling choices cost LSU the 2012 Bama game and him taking out Hill cause he fumbled led to the loss at Ole Miss in 2013. And last year??? What a joke....

Now chew on that a bit......

He mailed it in.He went through the motions nothing more.I have lost a lot of respect for him because of that.He left his players hang out to dry long before the bowl game.

You hit the nail on the head.

DC calls the coverage and the players work off that package....if adjustments aren't made the offense calls plays to take advantage. If Chavis mailed it in the packages were wrong and ND had an easy time. Our athletes on D kept it close, no thanks to that fat turd Chief!

dukke v, sometimes it's better to concede that you're wrong in order to save face than it is to try to win by making dumbass arguments.
quote:

How do you know he DIDN'T????? Have the players said he didn't care??????

which was more difficult for you to understand? the part where I said:
quote:

The ND game, here, is a speculative observation of his breaking that contract.

...or, the part where he is contractually obligated to pay $400K for leaving LSU before Jan 31? Sumlin confirmed that he was talking to Chavis on the day of the game (which seems like a conflict of interests to any reasonable person), he landed in TX via private plane two days after the game, and he was photographed wearing A&M apparel with an A&M recruit around Jan 15th (I don't remember the exact date that the photo was time-stamped). so, he owes $400K. period.

his contract very clearly stated that he was to be an LSU coach until Jan 31st. after that date, he was free to leave without penalty. but he, like you, is a fricking dumbass because he couldn't wait a few days to satisfy the terms of his contract. instead, he went to A&M and sued both his current and former employers for money that he rightfully owes to LSU.

I look forward to your dumbass response.

everybody makes mistakes a-hole. chew on that. i'm talking cruising in a job that's paying you over a mil a year. CRUISING meaning not working hard and allowing the defensive line to atrophy and the linebackers do the same.

and then stabbing Miles and LSU in the back because of something that happened. I pretty much know what it was but am not going to start shite at this point.

chavis is a back stabbing son of a bitch that can handle no criticism whatsoever. LSU is better off w/o him. les miles, while he makes mistakes, is a class act and didn't deserve the treatment chavis gave him. chavis is garbage and the aggy's can have him.

now chew on that.

All I think about now is how shitty a recruiter Chavis was, and how awesome it is to have BeBe.
