From what I saw, it looks like too much gravity defying stunts for my taste. I have no idea who the director is, too. I'll wait for the reviews.

I was skeptical too. Turns out it's true.

Yea, apparently. Gotta give him props.

Cruise is batshit crazy no doubt...but the guy really is kind of sincere when it comes to at least putting his heart and soul into the movies he makes. I've never seen one of the MI movies, but I do remember being stunned that he apparently did this stunt himself in one of the last ones. My guess is if he could do it, he probably did...

As for me...frick that noise. I'm not jumping out of that window for anything.

Brad Bird...The Incredibles, Iron Giant.

I don't think he directed this one.

I'm not saying it's not dangerous, but the ability to remove the safety cables in post kind of reduces the danger level. Nice to see CGI making practical effects better rather than being used to create the effect itself.

Yes please, GP was awesome, this looks even better

I have to say that MI4 is one of the best action films ever shot. Sure the plot was just ok with no memorable antagonists like the 3rd one had, but the action in that film was memorable and incredible. It was a film that understood that every action sequence needs to have its own plot and suspense, not just people hitting each other in the fricking face as action movies have devolved into.

I'll admit that 3 was a fun, yet predictable guilty pleasure of mine for a while. Most recent one sucked though. No idea how it got so much love

It was. Couldn't tell you a single thing about the story. All I remember is the hotel scenes, the sandstorm scene, and the big fake screen hallway part. That and the goofy fight with Henry V in the parking garage

I mean, I didn't think it was horrible. I enjoyed it. And it was very well shot as someone has said already. All of the jumping around fight scenes in this one though look kind of stupid. They're not in the matrix for fricks sake.

I agree the plot was nothing special, but you clearly remember the action scenes. I'll give an action movie a pass if the plot isn't great so long as the action scenes are creative and fun. Really like 90% of action scenes shot today are simply people shooting at each other or being punched in the face, with no suspense or creativity whatsoever. Whenever an action movie goes out of its way to do something for real instead of solely relying on special effects or something that's so over-the-top correographed that you know its fake, it's sadly something to be commended these days.

Tom running all out straight at the camera while shite goes crazy behind him? CHECK.
It'll be worth a look, but probably not in theaters.
