and the water runs off onto 2 corners on my porch. As a result, I have two large holes in the ground.
So the question is, what do I fill them with? Just dirt, or should I used sand?

Thanks
I'm hapless on yard stuff.

Put some stones down or something so it doesn't erode again once you fill it in

Why not plant something there to break the flow of water?

I bought big chunks of slate from the big rock store on Florida Blvd.

Get big landscape rocks that match the color of your mulch. This will break up the flow. No holes.

Yeah soil or sand will just continue to wash away unless you can get something extremely sturdy established quickly.

Fill with dirt and cover with flagstone or something. Or just put gutters on those corners.

You can get one of those rain water chain things. And put some rocks on the ground right below it.
