and it shows. He is a great recruiter and an average coach, like his mentor.

No one should be angry or surprised. Don't expect national championships, or even technical, well-coached basketball. Hope for a run of tournament bids and exciting basketball with great players. Don't expect deep runs into tournaments and you won't be disappointed.

Well get an assistant that is an X and O's guy. Much like Miles has to do.

Dale Brown was always fired up, not borderline comatose, which this team emulates....

Tell me which of those teams in 1986 and 1987 that Dale Brown beat on back to back Final Four and Elite 8 appearances that LSU simply out-talented? He coached his arse off in those postseason runs.

Dale was a mid level coach no matter how fired up he was.

dale could motivate a rock.

brady could motivate a rock but the rock would transfer

trent could motivate a rock but the rock wouldn't be able to have corn rows or wear dark nikes.

johnny could motivate a rock but the rock would commit a turnover.

Johnny needs his testosterone levels checked.

I've seen 90 year old men whom I would not want to frick with. Either Johnny gets his players fired up or little Johnny is going to get fired.

Id be ok with Dale coming back on the bench. Him and Dup bring the fire, jones can just go out and recruit.

While CJJ would not get my vote for Coach of the Year either, it shouldn't have been needed today. Turnovers, missed free throws and piss poor effort is on the players. Shoot free throws at the rate of the 250th team in Division 1 basketball and they win in spite of CJJ.

Your analysis is largely correct.

I am a glass half-full kinda guy when it comes to LSU basketball. If Jones can repeat Dale's results for 20+ years, I will be okay with it.

Let me know when Coach K, Jim Calhoun, or Tom Izzo wants to come to Baton Rouge, and we'll revisit this discussion.

Dale did this on plenty of occasions.....it is not out of the question that Jones can, too.

Turnovers, as many missed free throws as we had and poor effort all game falls on the coach. He is the leader, he is the one that is in charge of getting his players focused. If every employee is jacked up then who gets the blame? the manager. Jones is the manager of this team and today only one player gave even remotely good enough effort.

Also the same problems have occurred over and over again. It is Jones job to fix that shite and he hasn't fixed it.
