No it hasn't. I've given Dale his due as a recruiter. And he was fired up. He was not a great game coach. He had superior talent often, but the teams were not often superior.

I'll give you 448 reasons he was a good coach. Somebody done lied to you son.

I found the 448th reason. But there are so, so many in front. 82nd in wins. Thank God He Was One of The Best Recruiters Ever To Walk The Sideline

Dale was a mid level coach no matter how fired up he was.

This is exactly right. Anyone who saw him coach kmows it.

Well get an assistant that is an X and O's guy. Much like Miles has to do.
He has a former NBA Head Coach on the bench. (Who has probably had enough of the Circus and will be departing after the season)

NOT BECAUSE OF HIS X's and O's COACHING

because he was AVERAGE, AT BEST in that category.

Who cares, wins is wins. If Johhny Jones wants to recruit his players and then he doesnt even wanna show up I'm okay with it, as long as we win.

Thoughts on Gray doing the same??

Gray was doing it early and had speed, he hasn't been the same since he got hurt. I think Gray has to dish it more when he slashes because his size doesn't allow him to do what TQ can

Counting SEC tournaments

shows me right here how absolutely ignorant you are. Anyone that watched LSU during the Dale Brown years knows that unless LSU needed to get a few wins in the SEC trny to secure a bid, then he put very little emphasis on the conference trny. You really are an ignorant poster on here. Not sure if you are trying to troll or not, but some of Dale's deepest runs were with less talented teams.......that 87 team was something special in terms of heart and playing defense....not so much on talent....but you go ahead and spew your absolute complete bs.

So now we redefine success....what a complete pos some of you are. You have been all up in this thread blasting Brown......the guy packed a house and got LSU into the big dance OFTEN.....he brought the LSU program up from nothing....and he had many great runs in the tourney....in fact, it was common knowledge that Dale was Mr. March for his ability to get a team playing at the right time. I wish like hell we could have that same average coaching and success now. I swear, we may not have the worst fans in America....but we HAVE to be right up there with idiots like you leading the way.

look at you all excited...got someone to agree with you....ahh....vindicated.....I can dog dale brown out and someone has my back. You pos. I'm neither young nor senile. Everyone knows that Dale wasn't a GREAT x's and o's guy.....but the mf could recruit and motivate, and that's a HUGE part of the game. From packing the house with games like UNLV, Loyola, or the Dome with Georgetown......this guy got the crowd involved and it paid huge dividends. You are simply one of those arm chair know it all type of person that couldn't lead a team out of a wet paper bag...but you have all of the answers. I'm done wasting my time on an ignorant poster like you. AT the end, it was time for Dale to go....BUT, he did more for LSU basketball and had more success than anyone is likely to ever do...and all you can do is run him down. POS.

We would be fortunate to bring the program back to those levels.

This, to go along with our success in football and baseball, would be awesome. This guy Otis is a tool. He has it out for Dale...and it's more than basketball X's and O's. Of course, you get ignorant people like this in all walks of life. There are people at our country club that honestly think Les Miles is a jr college level coach and is really not smart. LOL. There are people everywhere like this in real life....people that are so caught up emotionally and just can't process any sort of common sense and realism. Miles makes me mad with some of his decisions...he is stubborn as a mule, but the guy is nowhere close to dumb...and anyone that thinks he is really is just not very smart themselves.

No. Dale had Hall of Fame talent on his teams. He may be a Hall of Fame recruiter, but he was a mediocre coach and his record proves it, given the talent he had.
Dale was a poor x an o coach but he was always zeroed in on the game. When his teams had less talent they were never afraid of the much more talented teams. Late in his career his intensity fell off.

Jones is a poor x and o coach who seems to spectate most of the game. He has regressed from his first year and seems to be afraid to pull any starters, even against less talented teams. And everyone knows about his timeout issues.

I would make a bold move and replace him with David Patrick or Musselman after the season barring a deep NCAA tournament run.
