I picked up two MSY-SGU award tickets at 25k/ea RT and 5 nights at the Marriott there for 100k points. Will only have 2 days of a rental car plus fuel and food to pay for on the trip.

How'd you like it? Have you been to much of the Caribbean to make a fair comparison? It's been on my short list when looking for places, but I never end up making it there.

Have you got the wife on a points card? Definitely helps.

I only flew 51k miles last year, luckily I hit both spending thresholds and got the 30k bonus mqm's

I'm trying to get the wife to cancel her delta plat amex and just get the extra reserve for herself on my acct

I'm kind of a beginner at this. I'm not sure my Delta AMEX is tied in any way to my skymiles account even though it's my default credit card.

I'll probably hit the spending thresholds. I'm not sure if there is any way to tie it to my account for that.

It was awesome but I had never been to anywhere in the Caribbean before. If you go - Stay at Cap Maison. You will not be disappointed

We funnel everything through the Delta Reserve Amex

It's definitely tied to your SM # unless you are not the primary card holder. Unless it's tied to an old SM # and you have 2

There is not a better card combo than the Chase Freedom and CSP IMHO. If I did not travel as much as I do - thats the cards that would be in my clip

24 months from when you received the bonus (not signup).

Plan to do that, then finally cancel my fiancee's regular Chase Sapphire. Rotate as long as I can, keeping my premium business Chase card.

I have no idea when I got the bonus - I got the card on March 13 so I'll wait until July just to be safe

I don't want to get rid of My CSP since I used the no foreign transactions. I could close my Freedom and reopen a period of time later and get the bonus?

From reports, you literally have to cancel the card for maybe 30 days before you apply again (after 2 years) so just plan accordingly.

For example(YMMV):
Sign up for CSP in January 2015. Hit spend bonus in March 2015. January 2016 downgrade to CS (or don't) Or cancel.

if you keep either version, cancel whenever but 30 days before you apply again. This isn't really a rule, you just want the system to clear out that you are a current cardholder.

Apply for new CSP after March 2017.

You should be able to manage that, just make sure you don't leave points hanging attached to your Original CSP.

And yes the 2 year rule from receiving bonus is reportedly Chase wide

Looks awesome. I'm thinking that might be an anniversary spot for a 4 day getaway or something in the coming years.

I'm pretty maxed out on Chase products at the moment and my 2 years is coming up this fall I believe.

We should bring this thread back to the CC thread . I think we derailed again here.
