I've never been and will be in New Orleans Saturday and Sunday. I have no intentions of buying a boat so I'd mainly be walking around looking at stuff I can't afford.

It's worth going to but the one in Gulfport will be better and offer demo rides.

they usually do have a few vendors selling kayaks and related gear. I go every year just to look. Kind of a tradition with my dad. Fun to just see whats out there.

Looking at the a Nautic Star.

Would prefer Gulfport, but thats the weekend of the NOLA Gran Prix.

I'ma wait till next weekend for the Louisiana Sportsman Show in Gonzalez. Has a boat show, fishing, hunting, hunting dog competition, atvs, etc. Just seems cool.

So which one is better for flat/mud boats, the sportsman show or the boat show?

I went to the boat show like 5 years and don't remember anything but big fishing boats and cruisers.

The Sportsman Show.. You will find some at the Boat Show, but there will definitely be more at the Sportsman Show. As you said, the Boat Show has a lot more larger bay boats, fishing boats, etc.

I'm actually working a booth at the Sportsman Show and it's crazy the amount of vendors that will be there.

I think I'm going Friday. Should be off of work and I don't have to deal with as many people as saturday/Sunday.

I went to the Boat Show 2 years ago and the Sportsman Show last year. I preferred the Sportsman Show much more. Cant speak for the one In MS. Just don't sign up to win anything. All you will get is people calling you for 4 months talking to you about time shares.

Whatever you do never go to the BR Boat show. I went one year just because my wife won tickets. Biggest joke of an event I have ever been to.

Sportsman is better. I have customers at both.

The 231 Angler.

They are a relatively new company, but i haven't heard anything bad about them.

Gulfport Boat Show and its not even close to the Boat Show at the Dome or the Sportsman's Show. Even if you combined them the Gulfport show would still be 10 times as large.

The 231 is a fine boat, but a new company caught my eye:
