Spin Off from OT what is the worst injury you have had while hunting fishing? (

Hook in eyelid when my brother was back casting when I was 12. I was quick enough to grab the line and stop the cast before the barb when through.

Broke my ankle while squirrel hunting in 05. Jumped off a small cliff thinking I was Rambo, heard the ligaments pop.

Fell out of a box stand when I was 12. Fortunately I was fat as frick so I didn't break anything. Knocked the wind out of me and the impact hurt. I was sore as shite for a few days.

Had a hardhead's dorsal fin stick in my hand between my index finger and thumb. It stuck in probably 3 inches toward the palm of my hand. It tried to shake it off and it wouldn't come out due to barbs. I had to hold the fish with the other hand and twist it to pull it out.

My hand swoll up like a damn football. I don't think I've ever felt pain like that.

Nothing bad, just a treble hook in my thigh.

My worst was a machete to my hand. Was headed to big branch for a duck hunt and was cutting roseau. It was cold as a sumbitch. Blade nicked off a stalk and caught my hand. Didn't bleeding at first. Once it warmed up it started throbbing and bleeding a lot. I had paddled 1/4 mile in a pirogue. Decided not to chance it and packed up. Got real dizzy. Drove across the causeway and went straight to the hospital boat and all. Luckily the blade was dull. Only needed 6 stitches.

I was pulling a strech 20 along a weed line on a heavy penn spinning outfit...was playing out the braided power pro when a wahoo hit it and almost cut the end of my finger off...


then there was the time when while cinching down a knot on a hook where it slipped and went through my thumb and stuck into the back of my thumb nail...

then there was a time when..........

12 guage blast to the arm. Got me a helicopter ride out of it.
