I just thought they looked wide apart and it I guess I didn't see the other wall because i thought one was close to an edge and one was in the open. I see you said two feet, but they also looked close to the back wall as well. IDK, If they sound good then that's all that matters.

Talking to people. I don't use headsets. (not just gaming, by the way. I host conference calls and presentations for work). Also have used it for recording instruments (guitar and trombone) and vocals.

yeah, HDMI out from receiver to tv, but also an optical out from tv to receiver. ( I use my smart tv for Netflix instead of a box)

Am not sure if I have tried switching HDMI cables. I'll give that a go.

How do you have these connected? I have a Panasonic 60GT50 and a Yamaha RX-A820. If I turn on my receiver before my TV or turn my receiver on before my TV fully boots, I get no sound. I have to reboot my receiver for it activate the digital board or something.

Single HDMI from TV's ARC port (HDMI 2 on my set) to the Yamaha's HDMI-1 out.
I have the Viera Link/HDMI control turned on. When I turn on my TV, the receiver turns on like 1-2 seconds later. When I turn TV off, receiver goes off. If I mess the sequence up, then I just have to hit the Apps button on TV, then viera link, then change the setting from "TV" to "Home Theater".

With this connection, I get the audio from the ATSC tuner channels and the Panasonic Apps (netflix, amazon, etc) passed back to the Yamaha, and it automatically changes the inputs on the receiver.

You shouldn't need that optical cable. That TV and receiver both support ARC (Audio Return Channel). However, utilizing ARC requires a quality HDMI cable (v1.4). If you think the settings are right, try a different cable.

link describing how to setup the Yamaha

Note: You can still turn on the receiver without having the TV on. However, unless you turn off the receiver first, then turn the TV on which will then power on the receiver again, the sequence will break and you'll have to re-enable the Home Theater mode in the Viera Link settings.

That's a gorgeous workspace. I'd never be able to maintain that. Having multiple monitors makes any setup like that much harder to pull off. After seeing this, I'm actually embarrassed that I sit at this thing so much, and yet, I haven't ever taken the initiative to make it prettier. My desk is too small for both of my monitors so I have to use a cheap, shitty old desk for my second monitor and Xbox One. I guess I need to look into a proper desk large enough to fit my monitors and still have room to write.

We seem to have the same keyboard and mouse.

Here's my set up without my rig because I'd have to clean too much to get it in the shot. It's a pretty stout little machine, though. It's packing an Intel i7-3770k, Nvidia GTX 770, 16GB of RAM, a 128GB SSD for the system drive, and 5TB of storage. The setup is pretty ratchet in terms of how it looks. It's a ghetto workstation for sure. My second monitor isn't nearly as good as my main and is incapable of matching it in color and brightness, which annoys me. It gets the job done, though.

I don't think I've ever had identical monitors. I always demote primary monitor to secondary when I upgrade, so right now I have a primary 1440P 27" IPS panel with a glossy screen, and secondary is a 1080p 27" TN panel with a matte screen. So the difference between the two is clear as day, but the secondary is strictly utilitarian.

EDIT: Also, I don't use the G9X mouse anymore. Recently grabbed the G502;

That's the way I operate as well. Once you find a monitor you really want, the debate always comes up whether or not to just get two. At the end of the day, though, it's all about utility, as you said. I was just amped to find a decently sized, quality monitor that could swivel into a vertical orientation when needed.

How are you liking the G502? I'm really looking for a new mouse because this one is worn down.

I really dig it. I like the case a lot. I'm sure it's heavily modified, but what case is that? I'm looking for a new case because mine's a little small for my current hardware.

EDIT: Nevermind. I just looked through the album and found out what it was. Seriously, though, good shite. I'm definitely looking into getting one of those cases ASAP now.

It's an awesome case, very easy to mod as just about every single piece is held together with Phillips head screws instead of rivets. All I really did was remove all of the drive cages, other than that it's not really modded at all.

It's nice. Not the best looking mouse, but comfortable and has a top notch sensor.

I saw the lights and how awesome it looked, and I assumed that it was a casemod. No, that case is just beautiful out of the box. My current case is the Corsair Carbide Series 400R.

At first, I loved it. Over time, though, I had trouble with the front panel bending and the front USB ports going out. I believe it was just an issue with the case I had, but I don't think I'd buy it again. I want something a little nicer. Does it have decent cable management? I have to have good cable management in a case. I can't take a clusterfrick of wires.

Does it still require Logitech Gaming Software? I'm hesitant to really commit to another G-Series as a result. I love the keyboard, but the mouse has always been a pain.

Cable management is one of my favorite things about it. Every hole is covered with slit grommets, and comes with some nice Velcro straps behind the MB tray. It also comes with a plastic organizer box with extra screws, straps, standoffs and zip ties. With all the fans I have plus LEDs, CCFLs, pump etc it was still easy to hide and organize everything.

I also have the G502 and love it. You don't need the software unless to want to reprogram the buttons, dpi etc. I also have the G500 and love it, I got the G502 because it felt the closest to the G500 than any other mouse I had handled. Plus my G500 has lasted a good 4 years now without a single problem so I stuck with Logitech.

It looks like an Elago M2 stand to me, but I may be wrong.

You may have just sold me on it. I'm really contemplating ordering one today.

See, I went without it for awhile, but I like to use a specific profile when programming and set the buttons to hotkeys for the IDE I'm working in. Not to mention, it's nice to have when I switch to gaming as well. It's a love hate relationship with LGS, really.

To map buttons, yes. I don't mind the logitech gaming software. A lot better than having to use setpoint.

From the pics of the early stages of his build, it seems like it does. The fact that it fits a custom loop (and can hide the associated fan cables, fan controller, pump power, etc.) is a pretty good sign.

My case (Corsair 900D) has incredible cable management, but it's massive:

Touché on SetPoint. That 900D looks pretty awesome, as well. If that's your build, it's insanely beautifully organized.

I'm looking to update my build soon, and I want a case that's large but also has features I want. My 770 is struggling in the case. It's not overheating at all, but there's not much clearance without ripping out the hard drive bays. I have a few drives in there and a SSD so I can't really get rid of much. If we're being honest, I also just want it to look cool. A new case is always a big investment of time and money without that "Ooh, Ahh!" moment once the rig is up and running again. Well, unless you spend a couple hundred bucks for some of those really intense cases with displays and stuff. I mean, sure I get excited for it, but it's not the same as actual hardware. Hell, even the new PSU I got this Summer got me excited over how quiet it was.

I'm looking for something that's decently large, looks good, and ensures that my build will be up to par in terms of organization, installation, and airflow. In the end, the really flashy features aren't as important as whether or not I can fit two top-end GPUs with good clearance and other things of that nature.
