I know. The river in NOLA is nice, but finding a place to get a drink is hard.

The levee at Algiers point is a good spot. It's nice to grab a beer at old point and sit on the levee and watch the boats pass by.

You can also go hang out with the guys who live in the tents in the woods on the batture down there.

Go to Sidney's on Decatur. Grab some good brew to go at great prices, then head a couple of blocks over to a park bench on the river and watch the boats go by.

I forgot, there are some good Fitness Studios on Magazine that have free beer on Sundays. The combo has you sore as hell the next day though.

They are also open at sunrise on Saturdays. Same soreness though.

They're pretty cool. That market crash in the early 00's hasn't left them bitter at all.

The parking lots at LSUHSC are pretty legit, too.
