Scottsbluff, Nebraska. I swear it seemed like the pilot landed the plane and then came inside to work the luggage carousel.

Moyobamba Peru airport. Landed there to wait for weather over the Andes to clear. We were flying from Iquitos to Lima. Tar paper shack for a control tower. Airport building was a tin roofed shed. Several wrecked planes pushed off to the side of the runways.

KIA at Rekjavik, Iceland.

But at the time I was so glad to see a small airport that it was one of my favorite layovers. And Iceland Air rocks.

It was bad? We are planning a trip and flying into their then taking the ferry to Roatan. It's like $500 cheaper than flying to Roatan and you get a boat ride out of the deal.

Including airports with non jet service, I'd say Skagway, AK.

Vid

I fly in there about twice a month in summer, wind blows like hell and you basically fly toward a mountain, right before impact you turn and try to avoid the mountain on the other side of the valley. River at one end of the runway, sea on the other. Small "terminal" about 1,000 sq. ft.

Couldn't land into BTR one time due to fog so we diverted to Alexandria. The restaurant was a soda and snack machine. They had to call someone in to bring keys to open the terminal, at 10:30 at night. Then we took a bus from there to BTR. A fun filled trip no doubt. lol

Grand Rapids, Mn. Airport is about the size of a gas station convenience store.

The smallest airport I've been to is lafayette. It's really small, only 3 gates but pretty hassle free and an overall good experience.
