There's no single symbol; there are far too may different kinds of douchebags. The gym nut who walks around the office shaking up his protein drink all day and talking constantly about his routine differs substantially from the runner with the 13.1 or 26.2 sticker in his window. Those close cousins differr substantially from the guy who shoehorns his political views into every conversation about every subject whatsoever.

Given how cheap credit has been for the last decade or so, I don't see have most cars that can be had in the $50-$65K range can even be seen as status symbols anymore. You can buy a $70K car on $45K in income if you want to. Enough people certainly stretch their budgets to buy cars.

yeah but there's only so many things you can use as an 'ultimate' status symbol.
it has to require an obscene amount of money, otherwise it wouldnt be the ultimate status symbol. i like the lambo with tiger stripes or cigarette bota suggested by the OP. another good one would be Dino Rizzo's house.
