I passed in November, became licensed in January. Unfortunately I didn't pass them all on the first attempt.

I honestly dont know how LSU pulled this off. WHen I graduated in 2010 I want to say the rate was around 45-50%. Are they now giving actual CPA exam prep classes as part of the curriculum?

Good, means you will be a good partner. The 10% that passes on the first part become the Quality Control directors

Studying for that exam was the most miserable year of my life. I was about to jump off a bridge when I failed my last part by 1 pt.

isn't the masters program ranked top 5 in the country

The public accounting report which many consider the best ranking system for accounting programs has LSU at 49th for their masters program.

The pass rate in 2010-2011 according to LSU was 34%. 2009-2010 was 39%. Both abysmal.

One of the professors that teach accounting also teachers the Becker CPA course. So her course is setup exactly like the Becker CPA prep course. The audit section of the test should always do well since the faculty lean heavily on the audit side.

I wasn't commenting on either being a blast or sucking. Just saying that more money doesn't necessarily make a job not suck.

But since you admittedly have no concept of money, what the hell would you know?

Got my results back for the final part on the 4th; passed each on the first time.

The test itself isn't hard; motivating yourself to study that garbage after working a full day is the hard part. I didn't half-arse studying bc I didn't want to have to retake stuff; the passing or failing by a point or two isn't a fun feeling regardless of whether you pass unless it's the last test.

Budget cuts about to put LSU back in the gutter

The programs that are actually producing for the university aren't going to feel the cuts.

I noticed you offered no facts or argument against my statement. In large part, accountants can do exactly what lawyers can do, except for trial work which isn't that hard.

How a dumbass passed the CPA and then accepts 50k does not seem believable to me
