@McNamara247: So curious about what Phoenix would say if Dell offered them Tyreke for Dragic and G. Green or TJ Warren.

Thoughts?

I think you are overlooking the fact that Dragic is likely a three month rental.

Phoenix GM would shite in his hand and try to mash it through the holes in the phone's mouthpiece, praying that somehow it would make its way to Dell's face.

Short answer: I don't think they'd go for it.

You're pretty much clearing salary with that move

At first I thought they'd laugh, then I saw the MSB thread where Dragic has told Phoenix he isn't resigning with them so they need to trade him. I think instead of laughing they tell Demps to try and turn Tyreke into other assets...to use us to up the price Houston pays for Dragic.

Just looking at what fans of other teams are suggesting, Tyreke would be the best player offered to them. I think PHX would have to consider it. What other trade offers are teams making that would blow Tyreke out of the water?

That's the reason I would do it.

Only thing is. Would we go for Butler with that space?

Well, he's a terrible fit with their other 2 ball handlers. So, no, I don't think he's the best player offered. Plus his remaining $20M is an unwanted mess to their cap sheet.

Chicago is going to match any offer.

As suggested by a previous poster, if the Suns didn't want Tyreke you could always send him to a third team to get the suns what they want. And Tyreke's contract isn't a "mess" as you put it, especially with the new TV deal and cap rise right around the corner. Compared to what other guards have been getting his contract might even become a bargain. He has value around the league.

I love this. Of course- a third team will just pop up to take Evans, instead of Dragic, AND give PHX what they want. What team do you have in mind?

The cap jump isn't until summer '16. And that's still $10M you can't spend to go after someone better. Could be the difference between a max offer or not.

There is not this type of market for a positionless player who needs the ball, can't shoot, and doesn't play defense. Evans can be useful, but there is no way the Pelicans get a guy like Dragic from moving him

Evans is a 6th man, that's his best role. The problem with his contract is a highly paid 6th man is usually most valuable to competitive playoff teams with limited cap space or expendable contracts.

Exactly.

TBW recently and correctly pointed out his versatility and ability to fill in admirably at SF, SG, and PG so far this season. That's a very useful skill set. Same time, he's not a great fit at any of those spots and if you're relying on him to be in your top 3, you're likely lottery bound.
