I think 100 qt. is ideal. I bought mine from lowes...bayou classic with a double jet burner.

What is the range in pounds of crawfish that can be cooked in a 100QT?

100 is perfect for a sack and fixins

You can fit more in it but I've never really tried more than one sack at a time

I'd get 120 if I wanted to do two sacks at once

I have a friend that has one and it's a beast. It does 2 sacks at a time and he can get the water to boiling fast.

I mean, those are awesome but can you really justify getting one like that if you are just going to do a few boils in your backyard a year? Whats wrong with the traditional Bayou Classic stuff?

I have the 120 qt and dual jet burner with a 30 psi regulator it is bad arse. The rocket pot saves alot of time and gas.

Nothing, my setup is bayou classic. This is just another option.

putting the tank in a pale of water will solve that.

Before dual burners came out i thought about building one. I did some tests and believe the single burner isnt the choke point. I believe it is the surface area of the liquid propane to evaporate. I was able to connect 2 tanks to one burner and almost cut my boiling time in half.

i need to put some rods on the bottle of my pot as well. or at least some sort of heat retainer.
