As far as a "daily" or "weekly" thread, I understand that we can't have that in the title. Noted. But if we start a thread every single day asking where everyone is playing, is that not the same thing? And if someone starts talking about equipment, is it not then off topic? Golf is way too complex of a sport to be simplified in a "where are you playing today?" thread.

It is the same thing. That is why they get an anchor.

An admin answering in memes....perfect. Just what TD needs.

who gives a shite about where someone else is playing golf that day? all that seems like is a brag thread. adds no value to the site.

ETA: so I guess a "who here is going to the Super Bowl" qualifies as the same thing, right?

Gotcha

I don't understand why the admins whacked the weekly golf thread. Now the golf nerd circle jerk consists of 5 -10 shite threads clogging up the MSB. Doesn't make sense.

Why not have one thread for all the dorks who want to talk about golf to congregate?

Most of the new golf threads haven't even been from regular golf thread posters.

One of the best parts about TigerDroppings is the high traffic. If you make too many boards, people never even see topics that they are interested in. For instance, if every sport had its own board, you could completely miss a huge offseason topic because you wouldn't think of looking at that sport's board.

I think if you were interested in that sport, you would visit that board no matter when the season was.

But that was my arguement. TD can't just keep adding boards...so where does it stop?

Yes and no. In reality, I'm basically not thinking about football at all right now. I'm busy with NBA and soccer. If a big story breaks, I will see it in the MSB.

TD's policy has been the same for years. If a topic clutters a board too much, they open another one for it.

And this was the whole reason we started a weekly golf thread, because admins and users alike were complaining about the anoint of golf threads cluttering the MSB.

And that thread went on for 2 years. Now, all of a sudden, it's not allowed.

Is golf given a board? No.

Is golf cluttering the MSB? Yes.

It's a year round sport, and will be discussed in such a regard. So what are we supposed to do, if we don't get a board, but clutter the one we're are allowed to post on?

This is the question that has been asked and ignored by the golf community of TD. All that is asked for is an answer...

You can blame that on the dudes that abused that thread with terrible slang

So why weren't those individuals banned for ignoring the warnings of admins? That thread was always full of information week after week, and there were only a few individuals that used that slang...

I guess I don't understand why the multitude of golf posters on the site had to be punished for the bad habits of only a few.

Chicken - what can we/should we do now?

That weekly gambling thread has been going pretty strong there, Fred. Might wanna axe it. Or approve it.

To me, it seems like TD could support a golf board.

Especially with the new PGA season.
