Looking to buy a used one of these. I've always had a Jeep GC, but who here drives a Maxima? Like it?

Had a maxima a while back. I loved driving it. However, after replacing the transmission in it and an Altima I previously owned (both under 100k miles) I will never buy another Nissan product again.

Interesting I replaced the transmission in my Jeep and it wasn't bad. They seem to be around the same price used with the same amount of mileage. I like how both look too.

Not a fan of Chrysler/jeep, think they're kind of shitty

Nissan maxima is about the nicest non luxury car you can buy. Lots of power

Get a Jeep....the new ones are badass. A little better on mileage but still not the best of course but they are still badass

having driven both a 98 maxima and a 99 jeep GC, I would go with the maxima. The SUV is better for hauling cargo, but I don't think I ever put anything in the jeep that i didn't already fit into the maxima. maybe a small piece of furniture like a desk or something.

The new Jeep is really nice, but I can't really comment on the Maxima. I do like it's 4 door sports car schtick, but the V6 Altima is pretty comparable in performance.

I don't care what anyone says. Jeeps still are unreliable and fall apart after you put miles on them

Those are two totally different types of vehicles though. What if you prefer an SUV(or need one cause of kids, etc)...then you obviously want the Jeep GC.

I still have a 2001 Maxima that only has 140K miles on it(I also have new Jeep Unlimited). I will say that car has been awesome and if I had wanted another regular sedan...I would have gotten another Maxima. But I wanted something with more room so I didn't.

A car salesman's nightmare. A customer trying to compare apples and oranges.

I hate jeep but Cherokee is almost always tops for off road capacity on your 'soccer mom' suvs.

I'd take Maxima all day. What year was the altima with tranny probs? The cvt in a Maxima shouldn't go out
