There will be a never-ending wreck at the base of the eastbound bridge due to that massive distraction.

A lot of these renderings are old and have changed and will be released next week to the public. Stay tuned.....

Have you seen the new renderings? If so, are they impressive or did they scale it back considerably?

hmmmmm, maybe this will clean up some of the riff raff in that area? Looks like a great thing for BR!

I hope... that whole old south BR is going to be closed in on all sides by gentrification / development. I have a hard time believing it won't clean up too.

existing companies are moving in there.

only 3 as of now. Water Institute, CPRA, and LSU River Modeling Center

I dont see what is so great about it. you are too far away from the center of Downtown to be any fun.

And the projected cost of this new space will keep out most business, unless they decrease it.

still just as impressive just some of the building shapes are different. For instance.... the old dock will not be what is shown on those renderings it will have a much more angled and sleeker look to it.

Some folks sitting on land in that area about to get paid bank. Riverside is going to make enough to buy a whole new fleet of trucks to terrorize citizens with.

With the "River District" also being planned here is a rendering of the Nicholson Corridor..... Look in the median of the picture for how the plan to connect downtown to LSU is a Tram as well. No more DWI's for students wanting to commute from the bars downtown

peculiar that CPRA (~100+ local employees) gets a $9 million dollar new bldg. while the Water Institute (~30 local employees) gets a $20 million dollar new building ...and CPRA had to provide some of that $20M for the Water Institute's new digs.

Always good to hear about things like this actually reaching the point of a groundbreaking.

I know it's a consortium of funding but let's hope this doesn't get a big axe from the state budget.

Shouldn't that rendering of the tram have a wino sleeping on one of the seats and an armed robbery or shooting going on as well?

The whole idea is not happening because its "fun"...but as other's have noted, this is a major piece of the revitalization of the Nicholson Corridor
