This. We are reinforcing a mental illness under the guise of "gender equality." Its absurd.

Same with the gays, what did you guys think was going to happen?

After I brought this thread up on the Ole Miss board, you referred to me as an intolerant TPOS. Since you're obviously the poster-child for acceptance and open-mindedness, why don't you invite it to the Square for a night of drinks and bullshite?

Yes, we're going to think you're weird for dating her.

I don't get why they bother people (i.e., you guys) so much.

And you haven't befriended any of them?

No and I wouldn't associate with one of those people

I support people choosing to do what they want that makes them happy. I'm sure they feel the same way. That being said I assume they would support my decision to not hang around them anymore.

No. That would be too weird for me and I don't have time for it.

jeesh buncha uptight unsophisticated folk up in her

look if someone is your friend and have been for most of your life you don't stop being their friend because they are changing . Or start dating someone you don't approve of, or even chop their wiener off,, unless their wiener was why you were their friend
As long as what they do doesn't cause harm to anyone else, they have the freedom a gift from both God and guaranteed by the Constitution to live as they see fit.

but maybe a lot of you dudes only like your male friends because of their wieners
and I support your right to live like that

so what,, they are still your friend.

what makes someone a friend ?
is it merely proximity, shared interests, something more. maybe even something spiritual.

My friends are those people I know I cant count on. I may go years without seeing them but I know that if I need them they will be there. That thing we call loyalty which we so value in others and then all too often cannot find it in ourselves.

as long as they don't betray that trust I wont

That's how I feel. I could see something like this causing me to start to grow apart from a friend, but I'd still do my best to be there if he/she needed me. I couldn't live with myself otherwise.

There is a big dude out at Dow who went on vacation a few years back. HR got involved and told everyone to treat him as a woman when he returned. There was a big ordeal over sharing a bathroom I know. Not sure if he stayed out there. I've heard stories where people like that just got fired and collected a settlement to avoid any issues for the company.

Hides his gayness? I don't even know what that means, but I would hate for a friend to feel like he would have to "hide his gayness" from me.

From all of us. I mean we know he's gay, he just doesn't talk about it or bring his BF to events. It's not because we're pressuring him not to. He's a southern guy who is southern baptist and it took him forever to even acknowledge it to himself. We're all conservative, but he's been told several times by all of us that he can do whatever he wants around us.

It's just awkward because he won't even reference having a BF, so it's kind of odd for me to be like "why didn't you bring your BF"

I just want to know if transgendered is truly being born as the "wrong" gender or if it's really just being homosexual and being unable to cope with it like most gay people do.

The whole sex change process is too extreme and probably something I'll never be comfortable with.

I think it's different. It's a serious mental disorder and I'm shocked our laws allow doctors to assist people in these operations. Should be a crime against nature

I honestly don't know but I'll admit it makes me uncomfortable. My guess is that there are some cases where living as your actual sex is truly somehow in conflict with your personality. But there is just so much subjectivity, especially when you have whacked out parents raising their 5 year old children as the opposite sex.
