I'm with you except for the one obvious racist stipulation he put in his request. I get how that can come from a certain sort of ignorant/sheltered perspective, though, as obviously Salmon does as well.

I completely missed that. I figured he just didn't eat foreign food. I wondered what the "wink wink" meant, but dismissed it. I assume y'all are taking that as he doesn't want to eat with African American folks? If so, he shouldn't go to New Orleans at all and I don't know where else he would eat anywhere.

Shady areas have people of varying color and in New Orleans, there are plenty of shady areas. Two blocks later, it's not shady, but shady people might be walking around. Look at where VOR lives. He's a shady guy in a shady area.

This guy could experience some serious shell shock.

My mind first went that he wanted to avoid the gays. That's usually what Arkansans are more afraid of.

My long time experience with people from Alabama and Arkansas is that they have zero culinary sophistication. There are exceptions, I have not met many.

You need to find a chain restaurant for your guest, you will make him happy.

Well New Orleans does have a giant public festival for gays... but most of the state, you have a point

I hear you, but it doesn't mean the entire citizenry of NOLA is like Amsterdam. And there is lots of gay pride activity in Arkansas as well.

Some folks here think we are still in the 50's evidently.

From a governmental standpoint there are areas that are more favorable than others, but people are people everywhere. Lots of rednecks in NY, Mass, California, etc. And lots of militant gay people everywhere too.

Most of us are just livin'
