If I am sending someone to Tujaque's, it's for the chicken bon femme(sp?) not the brisket.

is the Cochon Butcher muffaletta more iconic than the Central Grocery one?

c'mon!

I understand the inclusions of Popeyes. Figure how it started local, and is now in just about every state and about 30 different countries. And their red beans are fricking great.

These are ICONIC dishes, not necessarily the best. I would sub Central Grocery for Cochon on the Muff. I never heard of Praline Bacon and it sounds nasty. If you're putting Oysters Rockefeller on the list, Antoine's should be the restaurant. And brisket may not excite you, but Tujague's brisket is an iconic New Orleans dish.

Cool w most of it.

-Muff def needs to be Central
-No dice on Tujaques
-Pecan Pie is a miss
-Souffle potatoes?
-Jambalaya of any sort in Nola is a no-no

Understand their intentions tho

Good point and reminder. One question is whether they are still iconic in a good way. While I prefer R&O's for a muff, Central Market was and is still iconic for that in my opinion and I believe Popeye's can be considered iconic regardless of the fact that it's now all over the place.

Pascal's bbq shrimp were iconic. They aren't any more, in my opinion. I think Mr. B's moved into that iconic slot.

Shrimp remoulade at Clancy's is by far the best in town. BBQ Shrimp at Mr B's blows Manale's out of the water.

They need to ditch the Lucky Dog and Popeyes Red Beans. The rest are legit.
