Manly drinks-whiskey of any sort; dry martini; most beer

Womanly drinks-Cosmos, Chocolate Martinis and the like

I don't get it.

This thread is confusing.

Are you asking something?

What don't you get? Sounds like you have a decent grasp on it to me.

You need to learn to frame better pics than the Snap Chat you sent me before you get the Cosmo Rewind*** started

I think there is a scientific reason for men liking whiskey, bourbon, rye, etc. I saw that on Bar Rescue, so I'm not sure if that's even true or not.

When I was a kid the old Aunts at family dinners drank something they called a 'high ball'. It was whiskey, water, sugar and a cherry.

They also made something called 'cherry bounce'. It was bourbon infused with cherries and aged for five years in the bottle.

As long as watermelon margaritas aren't considered girly, then I'm in the clear.

I must live in a different world than you guys. I know plenty of women who drink Guinness and dudes who think nothing of a fruity tiki concoction complete with umbrella and fruit garnish.

Seriously, this isn't 1919. (We got the vote in 1920.)

I usually get "other flavors" of maragaritas, and deal with the laughter.

The lime-induced heartburn is too much to handle.

I've seen that one as well. Has something to do with as men age their sense of taste deteriorates, liking straight strong liquors is needed to taste something

Hey, I'm with you! But even on this site there is a certain cretin mentality when it comes to drinks.

Funny story:

Sitting outide at a local bar having a manly drink and guy pulls up in a dirty pickup truck. He climbs out and looks like the Marlboro man, even with the boots and cowboy hat. He whistles and 2 labs jump out of the back and follow him to the deck where they sit obediently.

He orders and in a while they come out with this frozen chocolate drink complete with whipped cream and a cherry on top.

I thought to myself "good for you!"

Meh. All in how you order it. I have found myself impressed when a man is comfortable enough to order whatever fruity concoction he wants.

Although, Sex on the Beach might be pushing it

I'm a woman. My #1 by a huge stretch is beer. #2 is wine. #3 is a dry gin martini. #4 is vodka/water.

So the "manly" vs. "womanly" rule isn't always true.

If you go to a really nice cocktail bar with a bunch of stuff you haven't heard of, the best ones are always made with tequila. I'm a sucker for anything with a raw egg, personally.

Man - whiskey, whiskey cocktails (Manhattan, old fashioned, etc.), martini

Woman - any cocktail containing vodka

There is a local martini bar that makes a mean gin martini. I always order it. My date gets a Cocoatini or a Reeses Martini. I say, "dang that's good" and get it for my second one.

So I'm only half as impressive.

Really want to develop an affinity for bourbon, although I haven't practiced much, admittedly.

I like Bourbon Milk Punch. That count?
