Long over do visit with my maw maw. After I'm taking gf and I out somewhere. Haven't really kept up with the BR dining scene since moving to nola. Thinking super casual.
Places she's already been:
Chimes (both)
City Cafe
Tony's Seafood
DiGuillio's
Radio Bar
Texas Club
Fleur de Lis Pizza
Bulldog
Coffee Call

Places I'm thinking:
Sammy's
City Pork
Chelsea's
Ivar's (didn't they remodel that place?)
Parrain's

I'll take suggestions.

Cheers

Please no. Place is on its own level whole level of meh

Go to the new city pork or beausoleil

The short ribs at beausoleil are easily the best thing I have eaten in Baton Rouge

Parrain's -- I like the food there a lot, but they get packed. You might have to wait 45 minutes or more to a table.
Beausoilel is excellent, one of the best places in BR to eat. But they're going to be packed tonight with Restaurant Week

Don't waste your money at coyote blues. Much better food out there for price point.

So here's how the night went:
Arrived at the parents and exchanged Christmas gifts (I'm a horrible son I know). Dad surprised me and had chicken n sausage gumbo on the stove with potato salad and rice. Outside he was frying some freshly caught speckled trout and eggplant. So dinner was covered and awesome.

I then showed gf Tigerland. Enjoyed a round at Fred's. After that we hit up Ivar's and then Chimes East.

All around chill night. Love seeing my family, but each time I go to BR it makes me appreciate Nola even more.

From the places u mentioned? I guess so. Sounds like a horrid night.

Pretty weak suggestions tho, to a guy obviously very young and residing in New Orleans.

Well the gf enjoyed herself. I've always avoided Tigerland like the plague but it's funny to people watch the frat life there.

If I was showing someone freds, I'd want it to be shitshow-freds, which isn't usually the case on Saturdays. Was it busy?

Fairly quiet. Funny part was seeing a handful of 29/30yr olds who just can't let go.
