Have any of you been? How was it? Personally I can't imagine myself trying to eat a meal while also trying to pay full attention to a movie, especially if it's a good one. But I've never tried it either, so.

Been once. It was nice. Good to do something a little different.

Tried to talk my SO into it, but the idea grosses him out. Can't imagine we'll be going anytime soon.

I've been to one in Houston, it was fun, but we were watching one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, so it's not like paying full attention was really necessary for enjoyment.
Typical bar food and a basic beer selection.

just opened one up where I live, full bar in the lobby, all seats are recliners, and you're waited on during the movie, pretty sweet, I don't even care what movie is playing

These types of venues can be really nice. There's the Alamo Draft House and iPic theaters that have damned near fine dining with very nice seating.
The tickets are a little on the pricey side, but you get a real meal, beverages, good/comfortable seating and they take the "no talking/texting" thing seriously. One warning, then they kick you out.
Give it a shot, at the very least you end up just not liking it.

Are you retarded? I think you can handle it.
My wife and I don't go anywhere to see a movie except Canal Place. I will say that we usually don't eat dinner there, its just a more enjoyable experience.

Have done a handful of times for novelty.
Prefer the remodeled normal theaters though with reserved/reclining seats but normal popcorn and the like.

I've been to a few different theaters out here that do this. Some are very nice and upscale and some just basically regular theaters trying to cash in on the popularity. Some have designed the seats/placement of seats very thoughtfully so that you aren't really disturbed/distracted when the server comes to drop off food to other patrons...some not designed so well and the servers can be very distracting during the movie.
Most of the food is basic bar food that you can easily eat in the dark. Range of food quality depends on theater really.

the one that opened up near us is part of a chain owned by a company out of Austin, the menu is a fairly swanky one with stuff you'd see at a decent restaurant, as well as bar type food, and bottomless popcorn for $7, and full bar with a huge beer selection, it's pretty nice

I took my kids there for breakfast and a movie about 2 months ago. It was cool and strange at the same time. The seat placement and servers, that are serving, may be a problem if it's crowded (not many people when we went). the service was horrible but I'm sure they will get better with time. It could have been because all of the kids working there were hungover from Saturday night, though. Our breakfast was pretty good, considering they came from a theater.

Never been to one, but I figure if I can solve Wheel of Fortune puzzles while I eat, I can pull off watching a movie.

Ipic was mentioned above and that one is the nicest one I've been to. My husband and I have gotten spoiled by that place. It's pricey though ($25 a ticket for their premier section with full service, blanket, pillow and fully reclining leather chairs), but worth it when you want a nice date night or for a movie you really want to see in the theater.

They take your order before the movie but you can continue to order. It's more of an experience than being so focused on the movie itself, 100 percent. But, yeah, watching a movie and eating isn't going against the norm at home, so most can handle it.
To the OP, go for it. The Northshore doesn't have much to offer as far as entertainment.

I really don't care for eating while I watch, but I am a big fan of drinking while I watch.

I have been to the one in Covington 3 times. Have had one good experience and two bad ones. Service was just horrible both of those times, movie delayed because they didnt start taking peoples orders soon enough, they oversold the theatre so people were arguing about who should get the seat (assigned seating) and another time the movie projector was broken....
I will probably go back one more time, if its still the same then I'll be done with it.

Yep, been a bunch of times. It really all depends on what you get to eat in my opinion.
First, the movie tickets are generally cheaper than what you find at Hollywood in Covington. What we usually dois go to the bar, get an app and a drink and choose from the menu, then order when we sit down.
The key is to eat something that you don't have to see (a salad, or pasta or pizza). I got tacos one time and couldn't see what was what...bad mistake.
