but worth it when you want a nice date night or for a movie you really want to see in the theater.

if they would just turn out the lights after the last showing and let you sleep there it would be perfect

I've been to The Theatres at Canal Place in NO a few times. It's a very nice way to see a film, but it's better for certain types of films. I wouldn't prefer to see a very intense or a very serious film at a place like that, but a comedy, and especially any kind of high brow comedy like a Woody Allen or Wes Anderson film is great to see at a place like that.

Some are very nice and upscale and some just basically regular theaters trying to cash in on the popularity.

The one in covington fits the second description. It's a regular theater trying to cash in on the popularity. It was very disappointing. Nothing upscale about it.

Yeah because there is nothing upscale about giant leather chairs and people bringing food and drink to you. I have been twice and enjoyed it both times.

The "wannabe" theaters I was talking about had leather chairs and servers as well. However...the placement of the chairs sucked because even with the servers ducking down...they were still sometimes walking right in front of you to other people and were distracting. And the food...Applebee's would have been better than getting food in the theater.

The upscale theaters that have mastered this type of theater....servers aren't distracting at all(cause of how the theater is designed) and the food doesn't taste like it was just heated up in a microwave minutes before...chefs actually come up with new upscale menu items and desserts on a regular basis. You feel like you are eating food from a nice restaurant.

I saw Chef there recently and it was one of the best movie dates the lady and I have been on.

I haven't been a huge fan of the ones that try and do upscale food. I'd compare it to food quality of nice but not elite hotels who try and match the offerings of their elite counterparts. It's not disgusting or anything, it's just too ambitious for that operation.

I think that's what is coming to Juban, as well.

Hmm...just heard yesterday that one is being proposed now for Juban Crossing. I guess it'll be close enough to check out...

Is the seating pretty spaced out in these? Or will I run the risk of Big Lou next to me plowing down on a meatball sub and wings and getting up to piss every 8 minutes after a sixer of high life.

I covington I think there is maybe 10 seats or so to a row. They try to get the food out before the movie actually starts so it's not too bad as far as having someone chomp in your ear. The rows are deep enough to allow servers to move in front of the seats so it's not bothersome when someone down the row does get up.

We liked it. Food is something like you would expect at Fridays. Good idea is to get there a bit early so you can order and get food served before the movie starts.

I imagine Juban will be nicer as they are building it from scratch. The one in Cov. was an old theatre they remodeled extensively a new building built for purpose will be better I'm sure.

This is seating typical for the Premium section of Ipic

Cheaper seats at bottom...

If you get bottom section...you don't have a server...you go to bar or restaurant and get your own food/drinks
