All we have in North Alabama is Zummo boudin that can be bought at WAL-MART. What is some good stuff that can be ordered at a reasonable price?

I haven't had Teet's boudin, but I've ordered online from them and the service was excellent. If you're going to order boudin, you might consider ordering some good andouille and/or smoked sausage etc... as long as you're going to be paying shipping prices. Make it worth your while.

I believe Bergeron's in Lobdell will ship the smoked boudin. I think Best Stop may ship, also.

I have ordered Best Stop, Don's, and NuNu's. I like NuNu's the best. Best to order about 20 lbs at time. Also tell them how big a packs you want. I ordered from Don's one time and they shipped it in 5 lb packs. Made it a pain in the arse when you only wanted to cook 2 lbs.

I haven't had Bourque's in a long time, but I like Bergeron's and Kartchner's better in that area. I'm the only human on this Earth who doesn't care much for the sausage cheese bread. I just don't think it's all that.

I like that cheese bread they make.

I had a couple of Billy's pepper jack boudin balls the other day. Man they are huge and good. I had heartburn all night.

Question about boudin. I just clicked on the above link and T Boys is a lot darker than mine and I've seen others darker. What makes them dark like that? I'm talking fresh.

Two guesses...a rich stock and maybe a little more liver in the mix...or maybe a little liver in the stock.

While Teets smoked sausage is fantastic, the boudin they send by mail order is awful. I make an order from Teets every 6 months and I have only ordered the boudin once.

Has the OP considered making it at home? Its not very hard to do and its what I have resorted to.

Teet's is my favorite of both smoked and boudin. Never shipped though

I've only had it by mail order. Their smoked sausage is the best that I have had.
