re: I'm sick of the cable company. Pros and cons of going exclusivley... - 8thyearsenior
After the 3 months HBO is $30 a month. Also add in the costs of a box(they don't give you those for free), HD, DVR(if you want it) and the taxes and fees I would bet you are at $60 at least for just one tv and no HBO, and you will still sit there and flip channels because nothing is on. When I ca...

re: I'm sick of the cable company. Pros and cons of going exclusivley... - 8thyearsenior
I was paying $137 a month for Directv plus $70 for internet. Internet is what it is so I'm not saving or spending more there but I am saving over $100 on TV watching. I have Netflix and Amazon Prime(which I already had both of), I added Hulu for like $7, and I use my sisters logins for HBO and ESPN(...

re: I'm sick of the cable company. Pros and cons of going exclusivley... - 8thyearsenior
Sports became more of an event, so it was more social and going out to watch something, rather than vegging on a couch. I found ways to watch what I wanted at home, and I watch less overall, and watching less TV overall is probably a good thing.
this for me also. I might go a week ...

re: How much are you paying for health insurance? - 8thyearsenior
GRTiger
I was self employed running my own consulting business in oil and gas drilling, there was no employer. Before that I had a job with an oil company form Canada that closed its US operations so I got Cobra through them. I got a job at Coors in Golden since the oilfield has go...

re: How much are you paying for health insurance? - 8thyearsenior
I got insurance through the exchange this year and for the gold coverage with a family of four(myself, wife both nonsmokers and 2 kids ages 4 and 5) I paid $950 a month with Kaiser Permanente. Its great coverage and better than or equal to anything I got through any employer. I live in Colorado if t...

re: Do you like Alton Brown? - 8thyearsenior
I still like him. The recipes aren't the best but they are all solid and will give you a good starting point on doing your own. I really like how he explains the why on every step. I feel like watching his show has made me a better cook, even though I don't use his recipes(except his fajita one, it ...

I'll never understand why some of y'all have FS bikes in La or Tejas, there is no need for it. My Bronson and my single speed 29er [IMG]http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e377/poonamibax...

re: Colorado's marijuana year-over-year tax income doubles in March - 8thyearsenior
If anyone is relocating away from Denver the housing market hasn't seen the effects yet. [link=(http://www.denverpost.com/business/ci_28093454/metro-denver-home-prices-raced-17-2-higher)]LINK[/link] My home value is up about 40% from when I bought here 4 years ago. I couldn't afford to move here ...

Beer, topography, forward thinking, education, standard of living... yea but y'all have more minorities and your CBD is pretty to look at when i have a layover. Its a city like Denver is a city. Cities are basically the same to me. some are a little better than others but still a city. I can't go t...

I'd suggest you post there less and less and then just let them continue their circle jerk, maybe check in every now and then to see that the circle jerk is in full swing with them fellating each other with their new favorite thing. No bother to comment about the outside world, it will just interrup...

So you caught grief because one of the regular posters there didn't like what you had to say about a beer they like? Did they start ignoring your posts? What kind of website is that? Sounds awful, good thing you came back here so you and the regular posters here can talk about it....

NB is awesome tour or not. You probably can't reserve a spot but people are no shows so you may get in the tour. It's worth it just to hit the tap room....

re: Which Fort Collins breweries to hit? - 8thyearsenior
Yes, NB is the best one up there. I would hit those three then depending on whether you are spending the night or not start working my way back down to Denver. If staying in FC, then hit up Choice City, Mayor of Old Town, tap and Handle and maybe Coppersmith. FYI-the breweries in FC close early, rea...

re: Getting a job on an oil rig - 8thyearsenior
So all these hands from the 1000 land rigs that got laid down should be working? They are just lazy if they don't have jobs? One guy got a job so that means everyone that wants to work on a rig should be able to find it. I'll tell the hundred or so guys I know sitting at home that they are just lazy...
