Avery Brewing Black-Eye

Just got back from Colorado. Went to a liquor store and had the guy go to the back and grab this bottle for me. Last 1 in stock he said. Good find or what?

People in Colorado go apeshit over this beer series. Similar to the Divine Reserve from St Arnold.

Yeah I couldn't pass up on the ABV. They also had a couple bottles of Avery's Tweak and my buddy got one but I didn't grab that one

Got a bottle as well, but haven't cracked it yet. Stopped at Applejack's liquor store on the way to Breckenridge and they separated me from more than a few $ bills

Here is what I had left to bring home:

Yea, not even close. Maybe 100-200 will go to the release at the brewery but no one is lining up at stores before they open waiting on them or running around from store to store trying to find it.

I haven't had this one because I want no part of an 18% beer. I generally like all the Avery BA stuff and most of their normal line up. I don't find that any of their BA series ages worth a damn more than a year.

Nah, haven't cracked any of the Averys open yet. I'm thinking they will be special occasion brews for the most part, but I'm not sure I can hold out.

That's kind of a bummer, I figured with as big as these beers look to be that they would be good aging candidates.

Makes having a couple of beers after work take on a whole new meaning.

I'm not generally a fan of those huge ones. I had melange #3 at the brewery and it took me 20 minutes to drink 4 oz.

that was only 15% I think.

most of those end up pretty boozy. those are definitely better sharing with a couple of others and doing smaller pours
