They are very good. Well organized and Koeman is a great tactician.

You just did

Southampton was better coached today. Their team played smart and to their strengths, defended well, didn't try to force things. Great win for them.

It's amazing what they've done after selling off those guys.

They upgraded at nearly every position. They also got Wanyama back healthy.

I think they would be just as successful with Poch this year. They have kept a similar style to his, and I have loved the success at Spurs (minus the last game) as the new style has been implemented.

They are much better defensively this year.

The dutch total football style is not similar to Poch.

I've only watched them a couple of times, but they still press very highly. Am I wrong?

they didnt even press today

more sat back and absorbed pressure and then countered

he plays the interchangeable players and parts style. Having players who can serve multiple roles and adapt to multiple tactics.

Southampton are a talented team, but even that accounted for I believe they play above themselves. That's just good coaching- in contrast to Arsenal, who I think play below their talent.

They were pretty damn good last season, defensively... Wanyama and Scjeiderlin are immense... It's hard to say how Poch would have done, because I doubt he would have brought in the exact same players...

Yes but they are on a whole different level this year

They have pretty much upgraded with that 45 million Liverpool gave them.

Even though he said he wouldn't sell Lovern he clearly knew what he was doing b/c they have got better without him.

Wanyama and Scjeiderlin basically are the reason Lovern cost 20 million

I think Poch is a damn good manager and if given a few years at spurs you will see a very technical side with pace.

similar style

Even if you try to argue it's similar, it's still superior. Poch most definitely tries to play higher up the pitch and Koeman's got a rigid defense that is tough to break down when it's set. Lemme put it this way, he's got Jose Fonte looking like one of the best central defenders in the league.

I like how you fail to mention £30mm Man U gave them.. That alone prob covered all their transfer fees

Lovren definitely benefited from those 2 sitting in front of him... I'm not so sure they upgraded on Lallana, but they haven't seemed to miss him... :

He's been a better buy than both Lovern and Lallana. You paid 26 for Lallana whos in his mid 20's. Shaw will be around a little longer don't you think?

We both paid the english premium but you got hustled on Lovern.

Issue is he has always been injury prone and doesn't back track defensively so I can see why he was let go.
