If it was an underwhelming hire we would just promote brick, imo..and that would have happened by now.

Trjovac or Pees. Either name we have to get over. Del Rio would be nice though.

Expectations are for a very underwhelming hire which is not an upgrade from Chavis.
Hope is for somebody amazing that brings in Coach O.
Not sure the position is as attractive as we think. Aside from some cash, MIles with his offense and quirks plus taking on an existing staff may be bigger issues than we recognize.

It's gonna be Saban coming out in an nwo Wolfpack shirt, and does the too sweet handshake with miles on the 50 yd line. Slot that into whatever category you'd like.

At this point, I'm assuming that it's going to have to be someone pretty decent because otherwise, Brick would've already been elevated.

That said, I really have no f'n idea.

I'm sort of operating under the assumption due to the amount of time its taking that this is going to be viewed as a solid hire.

It would just seem odd if he waited for someone this long that turned out to be a reach. Brick would be a reach and could've been nailed down already.

Possible.

Here's my totally uninformed guess at what's happened.

1)We had a few people we REALLY wanted. Those didn't happen. Why? Dunno.

2)When plan B had to be looked at, there were other possibles that happen to be still playing right now so, they couldn't be announced. NOTE: It's possible that plan B became known DURING step 1 and provoked Miles to change gears. Maybe plan B reached out to LSU? Or, maybe plan be is purely cause step 1 failed.

I think if we end up hiring someone who was NOT playing this weekend, then we can reasonably say this hiring process failed. I didn't say Miles failed because I wont know what happened behind closed doors. But, I do think it will be fair to say that what went down isn't a good sign.

If we hire someone decent who was playing this weekend, then obviously we'll wait and see this fall but we can't say today it was a fail.

both words are tied to expectations!

expectations bring disappointment and resentment.

It's going to be DJ Welter. He was like a coach on the field anyway.
