Unfricking believable. Do Corvettes spew rainbows from the exhaust? Is the interior made from the hides of unicorns? It's a fricking Chevrolet. I just came from 2 dealers, and neither allows test drives on the new Vettes. A few of the bullshite excuses:
-People don't want to buy a new car that doesn't have 0 miles on it.
-Porsche can let you test drive their cars because they have a $50K mark-up, but it's too much risk for us.
-If you pick out the car you want and we reach a deal, you can test drive it before you sign.
-People who buy Corvettes already know they want a Corvette.
-We only let people drive it if they are serious. (I actually had to pull the
prototypical douchey Porsche driver "Did you see what I drove up in?" move on the salesman on this one.)
I tried to tell these douchebags that I'm trying to decide between a new Cayman S and a Vette - who would possibly choose one car over another without a test drive? Just a few years ago, I bought a loaded Transformer Camaro 2SS from one of these dealers. This is not a subtle brag thread - I am royally pissed. It's a fricking CHEVROLET - it does not shite gold bricks. Are you Chevy trying to hide the fact that it handles like a fricking tank just like my Camaro did?

Tell them you want it, but without a test drive they can keep it.

The corvette smokes it by the numbers but the cayman s has a personality and balance that the vette never can. It also has some bugs typical of Chevy's.

Make sure and get sport chono package.

I agree, it is BS.
(Assume you are talking about the Z06)

First, they don't have any.
( I'll sell you this one at sticker, even though it's not what you want.)
Second, they can't tell you when or if they are gonna have availability for order.
Third, the Z's are having some issues anyway.

Didn't buy one...

Whatever, hate as much as you want... the new Vette is legit.

Performance, looks and reasonably priced.

Would buy (but not without a test drive).

The new Vettes are awesome cars and rock solid.

The Z06 needs to mature just a bit.

Their strategy seems to be to reserve the very limited supply of new 2015 Corvettes to previous Corvette owners for now.

I'm sure in a few months after the product evangelists get theirs, they'll loosen their grip on the ones they have in stock. They'll probably have more to choose from at that point.

Perhaps you should have showed up in a more respectable car.

It seems like they made the right move declining to let someone like you test drive their hot new product.
