How powerful of a pellet gun do I need to kill a possum? I need to kill a possum that is driving my dog, and in turn, me, nuts.

I tried a trap to no avail.

Can kill a possum with a broom stick. Any pellet gun will work.

possums are easy as hell to trap...anything that stinks will attract them. just open a can of sardines and you will catch them (though you will catch every cat in the neighborhood as well)...

to answer your question, possums are pretty easy to kill...any of the higher velocity guns will do the trick...

I tried cat food. Nothing has touched the cat food in a week.

do you have dry dog food out"...I have actually seen both possums and coons come to a bowl of dry dog food every night to eat...

back when I was a kid and had a trapline, I used to slay the possums on sardines, though...

I like your knife/spear idea.

The fireworks tomorrow night should give you some cover, should you decide to use a pellet gun/firearm.

If you can get it off the roof, a golf club works very well.

Get one of those dog-proof coon traps and put sardines in it. Guaranteed.

A Benjamin or Sheridan will easily do the trick.

Possums, rabbits, raccoons.
