This is generally a defense used by people of lesser intelligence.
Just like criticism of badass cars generally comes from those who can't afford one.

So cannot agree with this but again, to each his own. Good luck with the car tracker -- can't help you with that one.

Most of the tracking devices plug into the obdII port and take about 2 seconds to remove. Below is what a lot of truck/car use because it can't be easily removed by the typical driver and it has a remote starter disable.

LINK

My friend put this unit on his ex-wifes car when he thought she was cheating and disabled the vehicle when she went to her "friends" house. Oh the shite that hit the fan that night was incredible.

TeleNav app with track them and monitor speed. It will also talk you how long there stops are. We use it at work. It's not very expensive at all

All new cars have them already. But if you want one that's useable then go for it.

I get that a lot - jealousy is an all too common trait.

I would imagine that someone who flies jets for a living isn't going to be impressed by someone's "bad" car.

911, don't listen to these hater or your wife.... Get the kid the GT off the bat and go ahead and just put the gps on it for a set time. Say 6-8 months. And monitor it. If you see nothing wrong and he has gotten use to the car and you are satisfied then remove it... Also take him out every now and then with you and let him get down on it just to get it out of his system.

No reason to get the 4 and then a year down the road want the GT.

Grats on the good kid

I was an Eagle Scout, but if my parents had given me something like that, I would've drove it like I stole it.

My thoughts exactly. It's not about a teenager being trustworthy. It's about a teenager being a teenager, and protecting them not only from themselves but from everyone else on the road. Not to mention the fact that all new drivers have a learning curve and make mistakes due to their inexperience. They're driving deadly weapons and don't need any encouragement to be reckless.
