I can't answer the question, but if someone pulls a gun on me, I'm not checking to see if the safety is on or off before I shoot

I'm blind but I don't see a safety. I see mag release and the slide release.

Doesn't look to be a safety on that gun.
Slide release and magazine release are the two things on the gun in that pic.

Yes, the safety is engaged in your photo.
Hi Points have a small metal lever that engages the slide. It blocks the trigger and blocks any slide movement. It is inside the red circle in this photo.
It is in the up position. There should be a small orange dot showing if the lever were down. (Safety off)

Thanks. I grew up shooting older hand guns and now just have a few rifles. I shoot newer hand guns when out with buddies at the range but I am not intimate enough with this gun to decide on sight. On the asphalt as dropped it looks like the slide is blocked.

The safety is between the ears of the deceased & appears to be off!

HI Point, they are looked down upon by all who have never shot one. They are cheap, very heavy, but incredibly reliable, and plenty accurate out of the box. I own several Glocks, 1911s, revolvers, and wanted something new to play with, bought the 9mm on sale for around $125.00, was so impressed I went back and got the .40. Check out the 1000 or so reviews on YouTube that come to the same conclusion.
