Do you buy your boss a gift for Christmas?

(Or your holiday of choice for this time of year)
I know the average OTer doesn't have a boss but for those of us that do. Do you buy a gift? What are you planning to get them?
I normally go with the easy gift card. This year I may go a different route since I missed "Bosses Day".

No, my bosses (partners) make a shite ton of money off of me.

Not willingly. fricking old arse bitches in the office with their "oh we're all buying a gift you owe me $30 dollars cause I paid your part already"

I don't get my employees any gift. All they want is me to get them a decent raise or let them leave early.(and for me to frick off during the holidays)

Yes, as they let me in to the circle of trust. They're both retired, it's too easily done.

Well, in that case, do you expect a gift?

No, I didn't give it a second thought:

Our office takes up a collection for a gift to give our boss at the annual Christmas party. We also do this on our boss' birthday.
To my knowledge no one purchases an individual gift.

My boss gives me a $25 gift card every year. I have never gotten him anything as I don't think any of my peers do. Should I do that next go around? Already too late this year as I'm off work starting tomorrow.
I do send him a sincere thanks.

Coworkers and myself pitched in a few bucks and bought a nice gift.

My direct reports usually go in on a gift card for me. I appreciate it but I don't expect it by any means.
My colleagues and I usually go in on a gift for our boss as well. He's usually pretty appreciative of what we get him.

I'm an independent contractor so I don't technically have a boss. But, the guy who gives me most of my work always gives me something for Christmas. I feel as if I need to reciprocate. Really wish he would stop.

All of us VPs got together to buy the CEO a nice gift.

It's industry specific in my experience. I work with three partners, and associates here buy gifts for staff but not for the partners they work for.
To my knowledge associates buying gifts for the partners they work with isn't very common at law firms, so I've never done it.
