Eta. Ask for a steroid shot. You'll feel like a million bucks.
Maybe if he has a sinus infection, but a Zpack is antibiotics, and they won't do shite to help him if he really does have the flu (which is caused by a virus).

If you're pretty sure it's the flu (and trust me, when you have the flu there's definitely no questioning whether it's a cold or the flu) then get into a doc so you can get some Tamiflu. That shite is like a wonder drug.
Then lots of chicken noodle, tea with lemon, and rest.

Hubs was swabbed Monday as well as strep tested night ... Positive for flu. He started tamiflu and as of now has been fever free for 36 hours and is as he says 90%. Whether it was a mild case or the tamiflu idk or care but I'm glad he is better.
If symptoms started less than 48 hours ago go get checked.

The flu is viral...azithromicin is for bacterial infections. It will do nothing for influenza.

Tamiflu - I believe you need a scrip from your Dr. Also, I think you have to get a pack for anyone you swapping bodily fluids with. It works.

And I love me some hydrocodone cough syrup. Makes that day on the couch go by so much better.

i know but he said flu like symptoms. i was assuming he knew he didnt have the flu. in this case the z pack and steroids will knock it out. Of course if he is tested and has the flu they wont eveb give him this

Any cold symptoms means I pound water and tea until I can't leave the bathroom. Drives off whatever it is about 60% of the time.

A bottle of gin.
Tamiflu... it does seem to shorten the flu duration.

I was feeling like crap yesterday (chills, achiness, etc), luckily, the wife is a NP and we have a strp and flu kit at the house. At lunch, ran home and tested myself. I was positive for strep and neg for flu. Called her up, ran over to clinic and got a rocephin and decadron shot. Feel much better today.

Felt like I had it the other day. Took 2 doses of nyquil and about 10 hours of sleep usually does it for me.
