Any part of the atchafalaya. Plenty of places from bayou sorrel on south to Morgan city. Also Pierre part and belle river are good too

Car camping? Backpacking? Chicot State Park is a good option.

I grew up going to Indian Creek. Haven't been in a while but it used to have plenty of assigned spots to pitch a tent with bathrooms and showers nearby.

Red Dirt, north of Alexandria is pretty nice. Right in the heart of Kisatche National Forest.

Hike in early and claim the camp site on the bluff overlooking the forest. Went a few weekends ago and people were setting up around noon.
