For CBS just pay the online streaming fee that's under 10 dollars
Within reason the passwords for many of the pay services can easily be shared. Pool some of your subscriptions with friends or family.

btw, now that you are on what, you should look into BTN. You can get almost any new tv show there, including that trash.

My wife's not white trash but she certainly enjoys the trash. Here's some of shittier shite she catches each week:
Teen Mom
Teen Mom 2
16 and Pregnant
Marriage Boot Camp on WE
True Tori
Ink Master (I watch it too)
Are You the One
Hell's Kitchen
Little Women in LA
Every Baking-related Competition Ever Made
She says I should be grateful she doesn't watch Jersey Shore and related spin-offs, Kardashians, or Real Housewives.
Sounds like you don't have kids, or they are older.
Having children and a job makes it difficult to give a shite about that many dumb arse tv shows.

We have a 3-year-old and an 8-month old (who, incidentally, also requires special medical care), and we both have jobs. These shows aren't always on at the same time all season obviously; she just catches the new ones either live or in the morning before work if I have no interest in them. I didn't even include most of the shows we actually watch together. The kids have reasonable bedtimes, and we still get a good 7 hours of sleep. I've always been a pro at time management.

Anyone have recommendation on an attic antenna?
Christmas vacation mission is to "cut the cord"
I have a HTPC I built in the living room and a combination of Roku's, Apple TV's and Fire Stick in the others. Same issue as the OP, I need an easy way for my non tech savvy wife to watch TV.

Ok. Even I had to laugh at that. It doesn't matter how many times I read a preview, sometimes things just come out wrong.

Claims it doesn't work with an antenna. You need cable for it. You can use an HD-Homerun, though, just fine.

I had occasion to deal with these folks when I was putting together my setup and found them to be very helpful and knowledgeable. I spent about 20 minutes on the phone with Denny himself and he walked me through the entire process. You probably are going to need a directional VHF/UHF antenna to reach New Orleans stations and they can advise you on that. Give them a call. There's also a lot of helpful info on their web page.

Why the frick are you still paying for cable then? I've had this same setup for 2 years and have been fine.
Do you torrent?

It's easier if you don't have it in th first place but I know you're not in this situation.
I have a laptop connected straight to the tv. I have access to espn3 from a friends account and have Netflix. Also have an AT&T uverse account through a friend.
Bought an HD antenna for $40 and I get most of the standard channels like CBS and all that.
I don't need cable at all. I get evening I already need and what I miss is not worth the cost.
Eta: coke and popcorn and the equivalent web sites are money for those shows you want to watch. Like walking dead.
My bill $50 for Internet every month. Think about that for a second. I get everything I talked about above for $50 a month

Connecting to the Tablo
The venerable RCA Ant configuration will probably give you the same or better results, particularly for the VHF stations. These are made by several companies including the one I linked to in another post. I'm not familiar with Tablo, but Windows Media Center does a great job of handling the program guide and the DVR functions and it's free if you've got a Windows 7 PC. The Tablo is going to transcode the lossless MPEG2 broadcast signal into a compressed format that the Apple and Roku can handle, with some corresponding loss of quality.

So you connect the antenna to the PC via a homerun?
