Let me apologize for the extra with. I know that is very upsetting to some.

For my money, I keep Demps over Monty, but I think both go if there is a change.

Regardless, I want coaching staff changes. These personalities are not being managed well. At some point it is a problem with guys practicing what you preach. Placing it all on Monty, incompetence of the head coach, lack of talent, basketball iq ceiling, is just too simplistic.

On top of it all, bad teams and players used to bad teams need to see that doing X leads to wins so the habits that are contrary to their instinct (e.g. i can make this easy layup, so I won't dump it off to Davis) are reinforced positively.

Missing ingredient, and a tough one to find.

Yeah, it looks like Tyreke won the battle of wills by performing well as a starter last season. He definitely needs a shorter leash than he has.

His top 2 assistants, good coaches by all accounts, are well established with him. I can't think of any new staff you could bring in that would significantly change the coaching dynamic. Mike Malone was an outsider with a lead assistant title. I just don't see Monty at this point bringing in someone new and elevating them above Ayers/Hanners. Change needs to come through a new regime. Like you said, I think Demps/Monty are a package if something happens this offseason, and short of turning it around and making the playoffs, something should happen this offseason.

If that were true Monty's job might be safe

It doesn't need to be an "above" thing. Just add some new blood that helps address what you are not, like guards and wings moving off the ball.

Also, at some point, it's not a matter of "good" so much as "fit." These players need something else. It can be an addition, not a replacement.

Do something to stay ahead of the NBA churn. The changes so far have been forced by people leaving or have been very low level.

For some reason he's been given a pass by management. The roster in place is a playoff team. If they don't make it this year he has to go.

False.

A playoff team has depth.

Grrr not false. TRUE TRUE TRUE. Anthony Davis is literally the most valuable player in the NBA statistically. It is unfathomable that we are under .500. Not to mention he is doing this in SPITE of us not being very good. I don't even want to know what his metrics would be without Monty.

Talent wise, there is no excuse for this team not making the playoffs. i think this ugly 3 game losing streak is causing people to panic. Before Gordon got hurt, they were playing pretty good basketball while still trying to learn to play together.

When a team has an MVP on their team, they go to the playoffs and many times are in the Finals. It's pretty simple that this is on management and coaching. As fans, it's fricking ridiculous to watch and for AD, it is bullshite to be wasting his MVP year. How many more years, shite games at this point do we want to waste?

It's a long season. You need more than 6 players to make a run in the deep Western Conference.

Of the 3 major sports, basketball is probably the one where the head coach counts the least.

There probably is something to that.

Absolutely. A dominant player can affect the game more, and the game is more fluid and constant.

All of that said, however, championship teams do tend to have very good to great coaches.

Those coaches moreso instill a culture and a philosophy that is successful. The X's and O's rarely win games outright. Talent still dictates. Getting the talent to buy in is where good coaches distinguish themselves from the bad.

If it looks like guys stop playing hard for Monty, then it may be time for a change. Doesn't look like that to me, though.
