Buy them lunch and have them an ice chest of drinks. When all your stuff arives give them a visa gift card $20 each or so.

As a former mover, it is not expected but it is very welcome.

it was typically younger couples that would tip us.

Moving a household? I would not give less than $20 each, if they do a good job more than that.

Did it during college. If nothing is damaged 20 bucks a piece and some little Caesars would be good

I usually give each $20 and tell them to get a beer and burger on me that night.

Had an entire house packed up and moved to Colorado from Texas. I didn't tip em. When all was said and done we were missing our china and half of our silverware. I'd tip the packers and unpackers next time.

I'd say 20 per mover or 10 if you're poor. I used to work for a moving company, and honestly it means a lot when you tip, and that's what we'd usually get, 20 or 10 for each guy on the job.

I moved for united van lines, two summers in high school. My moms cousin was a 18 wheeler driver for them and we moved people cross country. I agree with others. $20 a piece seems about right. Of course I never expected a tip but always appreciated it. Most ridiculous tip I got over those two summers, we moved a guy from Chicago to Miami. He only had like 20 boxes and maybe 5 pieces of furniture. Took me and my moms cousin like 30 minutes to unload. He gave us each a $200 tip. This was late 90's.

When we moved I bought lunch in Texas (where we loaded the truck) and gave each loader a $20.00 tip. In Illinois, where the truck unloaded our stuff I paid the loaders each $20.00 and bought lunch. I gave the driver (he was there helping to load and unload and drove) a $100.00 tip.

The movers we used in our area were great ... we're by no means OT rich but it was so worth it to us to have someone do it and do it efficiently as we were in a huge time crunch, I think we tipped them each like 35 or 40 bucks. They looked kind of surprised but they even moved things from here to there as I changed my mind a time or two.

That's pretty specific and a little controlling of you to specify what they can spend their money on.

I was extremely grateful for them. They loaded up 25 years of stuff (family of 5) and moved it 800 miles and nothing was broke. I too had them move things a couple of times on arrival. I know they get paid to do a job but my tip (especially to the driver) was gratitude for making a difficult thing (moving) easier for me and my family.
