You are crazy. The two new Star Trek films are 1000 times better than the old ones, which I never really got into it.

Abrams directing gave me high hopes for Episode 7.

But I agree, the black guy is probably a Jedi or other good guy in disguise. A la like. It's a winning formula

We already know John Boyega was cast as the lead. And you're wrong, from what I understand.

Gee, if only there was a place where all you misfricks could talk about the Game of Thrones books.

This thread is for trailer hating.

There were roughly 3 posts on it out of 11 pages. Get over it.

Looked like it's gonna be grittier, cuz ya know, grittier.

Yep. It's a winning formula. It's what he did to Star Trek too.

The first one wasn't bad, because they were forced to come up with new material due to the story being set before anything in the original series or movies. The second one just randomly spat shite from the show and movies out at us randomly and cluster ducked the entire franchise.

It was blinky and shiny though. And gritty. Super gritty.

He doesn't have to be the lead to be a good guy in disguise. It's just my opinion anyway.

Because that is exactly why I watch movies after enjoying the books bearing the same title or set in the same universe - to see something entirely different from what I enjoyed. I want to see what was written on the big screen. Those books were ORIGINAL to use your emphasis and have never been made into film. What an utterly stupid comment by you.

I would have loved to see all the books brought to film but if you are going to use the same actors from the original trilogy it simply cant be done.

For example, Truce at Bakura literally starts days after ROTJ. The Jedi Prince series happens a couple years after that and so on.

Although, some of the detractors are just wrong to say the books were never canon. They were tacitly approved as such up until Lucas starting working on Phantom Menace, started waffling, and eventually split them into two separate entities.

I mean look at the covers of the damn things. They went so far as the get the likeness rights of the actors for them.

It looks a lot like the original trilogy. Hopefully they don't overuse light sabers like they did in 1.2.3.

People don't like the new Trek movies because the old ones were about "discovering" new planets which was the premise of the show. The new ones are all about a formula JJ follows which is to please the general audience, not the fanboys. Thus why, RT has given the two Star Trek good reviews and both have been pretty successful in the box office.

Star Trek 95% and fan boys thought it was trash
Star Trek Into Darkness 87% and fanboys thought about burning JJ's house down.

Learn to adapt to new spins on your favorite movies. It's the same characters and they will be nowhere near the steaming pile of shite Lucas put out.
