If you go to Tulane need to make law review.

Otherwise it probably wouldn't be worth it.

Dude if you can go to a tier 2 school and graduate with minimal debt, why would you go to a different tier 2 school, in the same region, but take on lots of debt? That's foolish. If you're footing the bill yourself, I wouldn't even choose a T14 school over LSU if you want to work in Louisiana.

Tulane and it's not even close.
This is like comparing a Ruth Chris steak to Applebees.

LSU graduates are more likely to pass the bar exam.

LSU is better if you are practicing in the state (especially in br). Tulane is better if you want to go out of state and is better in nola in some circles.

Louisiana is on civil law. I'd pick Tulane and plan on staying in the state for your entire career.

if you insist on going to law school, take the option with the less debt.

That's a very misleading way of putting it.

have recently been accepted to both schools. If I go to LSU I will graduate with minimal debt because I went to undergrad for free and can now use that money to pay for law school. If I go to Tulane I will have to take out loans

I was in the same situation and chose LSU. Very happy with that decision.

This is a good breakdown. Both schools have their advantages in some legal markets, but it's pretty much a wash as far as getting hired by law firms in Louisiana. As I said earlier, just make sure you graduate near the top of your class and you should have offers from Baton Rouge/NOLA law firms

As a Houston attorney, Tulane carries more weight here. Not even close.

Go to med school

I'm an MD. I work way less than my lawyer friends and make a hell of a lot more.
