re: Why do most conservatives embrace a lack of evidence re: climate change but not religion?

How does one, therefore, logically support Christian beliefs but not Muslim beliefs or vise versa?
The two biggest statistical predictors of religious affiliation are the religious affiliation of one's parents and the location of birth.
For instance, if you are born in America you have a 76% chance of claiming Christianity at some point in your life after age 18. If you are born in America to Christian parents, that goes up to 92%.
However, if you are born in India your lifetime chance of claiming Christianity is 6%.
Those numbers are roughly reversed if we're talking about Hinduism.

Are you categorizing religion as part of science class, or are you dropping AGW into religion class?
I'm not convinced based on the evidence available that humans are the primary force driving the global warming trend. Sure we have an impact, but I find the factual claims of human driven exponential increases in warming rates to be somewhat spurious.
So I would say that anyone who claims to know beyond all doubt that humans are the primary cause of global warming are in the same class as those who claim to know that Jesus was God and rose from the dead, yes. Both groups infer something substantial based on limited evidence and in some instances evidence to the contrary.

If you want to know how terrible someone's science is re: religion, just listen to their argument for global warming...
It really is for the logically challenged.

I've never claimed differently, I enjoy laughing at those who pray to the alter of AGW as much as the next guy.
Many on this board insist I'm some sort of beacon of liberalism and infer all kinds of things about my beliefs, despite an extensive posting history revealing my consistent disagreement with liberals and the democratic party in general.
I feel like anything other than a blind salute to neo-conservatism gives one the liberal label here.

Well, Jesus DID claim he would return in the lifetimes of at least some of his disciples ;)
I'm aware of all the explanations for that used in Christian apologetics, and not all are completely ridiculous, but its fun to poke fun given how literal many take other aspects of the Bible.
Regardless, I've always maintained I'll be the first on a bent knee if Jesus comes riding out of the clouds on a white stallion. In fact if the choices are oblivion or a global battle with a pitchwork wielding Satan, the latter would be far more exciting.

I was just under the impression you were an AGW guy. Good for you RK, good for you.
Oh! and . . . . .

I'll be at the game, though I'm not sure I can sneak in enough alcohol to make the cripple fight at Kyle entertaining

It would hardly be fair of me to pick on the anti-evolution crowd and then turn around do more or less the same thing they do with regards to climate change.
It also helps that I have a meteorologist and an oceanographer in my family who have a lot of insight into climate change research and have provided me with a lot of convincing information about the incredibly unscientific and biased manner in which the studies are conducted. My uncle actually had a climatologist associate who contacted him and asked if he would help him "skew" data regarding ocean warming trends.

Did they find Yul Brynner down there by chance?

I'm not going to derail this thread or get in a religious discussion with you on the Poli Board.
Suffice to say, that the passages you posted are talking about the coming of the Kingdom, not the Second Coming.
