The parks and recreation department for the cutting live in was the inspiration for the show. I have met the guy that Ron Swanson was patterned after...he's a trip in real life too.

Lulz. Yea this guy definitely watched season 1 and then said frick it.

Anyone who has seen season 2-4 and thinks this way just doesn't understand comedy.

I wasn't a huge fan of Parks & Rec, but it ain't that bad actually. I can see why you think they're 'mimicking' The Office. Their camera-work is probably the only thing that is similar.

I don't see how the show can be good without Ann Perkins. It's like when the office took away Michael Scott, it was never these same again.
