I'm 26, and it has auto selected 2055. Should I change it to 2060?

Or pick a different one altogether?

Yeah, I don't know man, I hear good things about the 2055. But then again, the 2055 seems to outperform year after year.

at this point, i'd say it really doesnt matter as they are probably near identical

by the time it does matter, you will probably be out of those types of funds and likely have help with financial planning

virtually idential and won't be much different for 20 years or more I would guess

2055 vs 2060

I would get 2060 and roll into 2065 & 2070 when the become available, but I don't like bonds and prefer high risk/high return when you're 20+ years from retiring

I'm the same age as you and for my Roth I elected to do the 2055 and "just set it and forget it" mentality. But only because I have my 401k through work that allows me to be more risky with my fund selections and able to reallocate them as I progress in my career and get closer to retirement.

Either is fine, this is really not worth worrying over.

I went with my retirement date grouping +1 because I probably won't be pulling from the assets that contain that fund right out of retirement.

If you are going to draw out of the account in 2055, I would leave it as is.

Do you want to retire when you're 72 or 67?

Probably closer to 67er, but I may want to be a little more aggressive right now.

They're both probably close to 100% stocks anyway
