Monty on Anthony Davis: "I'd like to see him get 25 shots a game. We haven't been able to do that as much as we want to. He's efficient."

Currently he's avergaging 17.8 shots per game.

If AD gets 25 FGA a game at 90% of the efficiency he currently is playing at, he'll easily average over 30.

If they would get him the ball in the 4th quarter, he could get closer to that.

If the game plan is to run clock and iso late to shorten the game, fine. I don't agree with it, but fine. The problem is our 2 best iso players (Davis and Ryno) aren't even sniffing the ball.

Pretty sure behind closed doors, he has broken it down, barney-style. to everyone on that team about 4th quarter, spacing, defense, and not rushing to take stupid shots/ layups (reke)

Drove me nuts towards the end of last night's game we were up by 8 and with time dwindling away we take poor shots with around 15 seconds on the shot clock 2 possessions in a row. That allowed the Kings to close the margin really quickly.

Agree. He's too efficient. Shooting .600% is great and all but it probably means you are being too picky. Lebrons a bit of an exception because he often makes a great pass instead of the shots in the 40ish% range.

I think 21-22 would be a good range for him to be in. I really can't wait until Monty starts letting him shoot the 3 ball.

Even if his shooting drops to 52% with taking 25 shots and keeping his same free throw rate, he'd average 31 pts per game. Fap so hard.

Tyreke is currently shooting 38.7% on 15.5fga
In the 4 games he's shot 17, 18, 18, and 19 shots, he's shot: 41.2%, 38.9%, 27.8%, and 42.1%.

Those games were: Loss to Memphis, Win to Charlotte, Loss to Portland, and Loss to Dallas.

Jrue is currently shooting 43.7% (43.8% for career) and shot 19 shots twice. 52.6% and 26.3%
52.6% in a loss vs Dallas, 26.3% in a loss vs. Portland

Anthony Davis is shooting 57.9% of his shots. In the 4 games Tyreke shot 17+ times, AD shot 12 vs Memphis (50%), 17 times vs. Charlotte (58.8%), 20 times vs. Portland (70.0%), and 21 times vs. Dallas (42.9%)

With AD's skills and lack of many scorers on this team, he can easily be averaging 28 pts a game. he's a effiencent, smart, has a nice stroke, gets a lot of putbacks, and alley oops, has a handle, and all kinds of wicket shite, his new dew is really setting his game off.

I'm not sure that's right. We definitely have a number of scorers, or guys who have a proven record of being scorers. The problem is that they've been in a slump (EG), were not being used properly (TE) or hurt (JH and Ryno).

TE...17pt career average
EG...17pt career average
JH...13.5pt. career average
Ryno...12.4pt. career average (close to 17pts. starting his last year with Orlando)

With that said, I'll be the first to welcome AD getting the ball more...especially in the 4th. The guy is money.

what have u done for me lately, not of them are going to get that productive. There's nobody on our team taking a huge volume of shots. besides ryno, he can jack them up all day and not be judged...

2014-2015 averages:

Ryno...16.4pts
TE.......16.1pts
JH.......15.3pts.
EG.......9.3pts.

Other than EG, the rest are doing what they do.

Nylon Calculus has a write up with a chart measuring various usage stats

LINK

quote:

True Usage: Percentage of possessions in which the player is “involved” in the offense either by shooting (including drawing a shooting foul), potentially assisting (including FT assists, but not “hockey assists”) or turning the ball over.

Shot Usage: “Traditional” usage rate – shots + turnovers / possessions.

Assist Usage: Potential Assists (incl. FT Assists) / possessions,

True TO%: Turnovers as compared to possessions used either shooting or passing. League average is around 9.7%, slightly lower for PGs, slightly higher for bigs.

TOP%: Time of possession relative to the players entire time on the court not just when his team is on offense. Average time of possession is just over 7% as according to SportVU, the ball is only “possessed” for about 37 minutes of a 48 minute game.

Shot/Touch%: Percentage of front court touches ending with the player shooting.Varies widely by position and role (and does not take into account offensive rebounding, which explains the high numbers for many big men, though not Kobe’s chuckerific early season.)

Davis rates out at 34.8%, right behind Pau Gasol and CJ Miles. Right ahead of Devin Harris and Jared Sullinger. Evans and Holiday are at 48 and 41. Anderson at 32. For reference, the highest non guard is LeBron at 51%. Carmelo and Griffin are next at ~45%, then Cousins at 43%.

Davis is first in Shot% at 29.7. Davis is right behind at 29.5

Davis is 4th and Anderson 8th in Shot/Touch%.

I don't want AD turning into Kobe (and he won't), but it's obvious the ball has to get into his hands early in the shot clock ALOT more. If he likes the look and is feeling it take the shot, or kick it back out to let a guard reset or penetrate.
