Do I spend the $500.00 on a Ipad Air 2 16GB or do I spend $300.00 on a refurb. 64GB Gen 3 iPad w/retina display???

Will all of the new games work on the Gen 3? We had this problem with an older itouch, the newer games quit working on it.

He plays a lot of games and would probably watch a lot of movies.

TIA

You buy the $299 or $349 (16 or 32 GB) retina iPad mini with the A7 chip from last year.

How about you not buy an iPad for a 6 yr old. Buy him something that will make him go play outside so he doesn't grow up acting like the douchetards of our generation.

You probably just shouldn't get him an I-pad. If you are going to get him a tablet get him a cheaper android tablet. Hes 6 years old their no point to spending that my much on a tablet for him. I wouldn't be surprised if its broken within a year of purchase.

Ok fricktards, does this look like a kid that is glued to a computer screen 24/7?? No, but maybe an hour or two a week he might enjoy playing on an iPad, I'm pretty sure that's my choice as his parent. Hell, it might even keep him occupied in the deer stand a little.... He has a Kindle HD from Christmas last year, he never really took a liking to it. They use iPads in the schools so I am going to get him one to help him learn the operating systems at a young age.

Unless you have some constructive input, GTFO.

For those that have given legit advice, thanks.

My son has just a plain mini, uses it all the time for school work. He takes it to school everyday download books, math games, grammar, etc.... For all of you saying to not let him stare at a screen, books are gone be a thing of the past get ready. Our school district issues a MacBook Air the minute the child enters the 9th grade.

I got my son an iPod Touch when he was 4. He's 8 now and uses my iPad a lot, but some how still has time to go outside and play with other kids in the neighborhood. It's almost like he doesn't have to exclusively choose one or the other. It's amazing really, you would think that would break the laws of physics by the way people are reacting in this thread.

Funny people that hangout on a Tech board bitching about getting kids hooked on tech.

The irony in this thread is hilarious. A bunch of guys who sit around on Tiger droppings all day telling someone not to buy their kid an electronic device.

This is almost a repeat of a similar recent thread. Guy asks about location tracking options for his daughter's iPhone. Some morons come along and tell him she's too young for an iPhone, guy overreacts and gets highly defensive.

With "Harry Johnson"'s name being in the front cover as the person who had the book the year before.

Ipad Generation 4 32G. A refurb I picked up for $300. I figure this will give him a few years service easily. Oh, and a Griffin military spec case
