Typical bait and switch. We'll end up with a peep show.

The crappy thing is that Alamo started by buying old theaters and refurbishing them, some in shitty neighborhoods.

But as typical with the developers around here, they are going to build a brand new everything for the trophy wife-soccer mom crowd to give them a new development that the hood has less access too.

I hope Alamo stays away from these guys. If they want to come to BR, There is a huge theater on Siegen Lane one in Broadmoor or the Lincoln theater that can be salvaged.

Isn't Tinseltown deemed beyond salvageable due to water damage? And I thought Broadmoor was in the process of being torn down.

And maybe in 10 years the Lincoln will be a viable option, but not now, unless they want to hire a dozen full-time security guards.

They have a few in Houston but they are all in the suburbs. They are kinda lame IMO.

We have Sundance theatre in downtown which is pretty awesome. Assigned seats / high value drinks and food / no kids movies.

I have never been to one, so I might be way off on this but wouldn't suck to have someone right next to you scarfing down pizza, hamburgers and beer while you are trying to watch a movie? Having someone eating popcorn is bad enough to me.

Or some dude polishing off 8 PBR's and getting up to piss every 10 minutes.

Is it theatre seating still with small tables in front of you or resturant type tables?

The one we went to had small tables. And there was a good bit of space between the tables -- enough space for a server to sneak in and bring you food and drink and not get in the way of the screen.
For you to be disturbed by the person sitting next to you eating, you would either have to be right by a world-class slob or have the ears of a bat.
