Why is the minimap so fricking useless? Huge downgrade from every other DA game. Show me something of my surroundings, don't just give me a stupid arse radar. Aggravating.
I have about 3 complaints with this game, and that + jumping are honestly pretty minor.

I like the game. It's probably Game of the Year. But it's not flawless or perfect. Some posters here have hyped it up like it's Ocarina of Time or some shite. It's good, but it's flawed. Needs patched controls for PC. Jumping mechanics suck. Mini map is garbage. Characters in some cases are bland/flat.
Get rid of the ending from Mass Effect 3 and fix the fact that all of your previous decisions are negated by the game, you've got a better, more polished game. I said it.
And Dragon Age is more my style.

I agree. The lackluster story and how filled to the brim the game is with pointless filler made me lose interest in the game, though I do hope to finish it at some point. Right now, I'm enjoying Far Cry 4 and Shadow of Mordor a lot more.

I thought Mass Effect 3 was the best game in the franchise. My only complaints were the ending (obviously) and how they treated all your party members from Mass Effect 2. Aside from that, it's one of my favorite games of all time.

Jumping mechanic is bad, but honestly there isn't much need for jumping in the game. Other than that I don't agree with most of what you said, but maybe we like different things in games.

Serah is flat. Varric is a shadow of what he was in 2. Cole had so much potential, but...nada. Dorian sucks. Vivienne needs more weight to make her quest seem impactful.
Iron Bull is awesome, and Blackwall's quest was great. Solas is only intriguing because of the ending. Cassandra is okay, I guess.
But just my opinion.

Jumping is barely ever required. In fact, the worst spots aren't needed and only have crappy random loot.
That balance beam in the Emerald area gave me fits.
You need to jump in the dragon hinterlands for 1 shard.
You need to easy jump 3 shards in Exalted Plains. If the jumping seems really hard, then you are in the wrong spot. That is a fact.
In some cases, going in the opposite direction yields the right path to the shard as is the case in the Emerald graves where the shard is up on a blocked hill by the campsite. Simply run up the mountain path and then you can easily recover the shard with no jumping.
Some people continue to complain about the story. I don't get it. This game has more story than just about any game I have ever played. If you don't like speaking to people to get the backstory then don't play RPGs.
If you want the entire story in cutscenes then I suggest you hit redbox for a movie.

I love this game, but the male character voice actor really, really sucks when you compare him to the female.

Yea, no kidding. Sera is great. Her and Iron Bull and her and Cass's banter are some of the best in the game.

The one big mistake I made on my second play through was not going with a chick.
I agree the american male is terrible. I don't mind any of the companions but default american male is not very good.
