The wife has to work on Thanksgiving. I know several places are open, but many seem to be open only during the day. We did Ruffinos last year, but they are closing at 4 this year. Latils landing is closing early as well. Too much to cook with just the wife, MIL and me.
Didn't know if anyone knew of any good places that will be open in the evening...

Wonder if the game being that night affected the schedules if this isn't the norm.

Have you thought about ordering some things from somewhere like Calvin's in amounts to fit your party?

Ruffino's is open. We've gone there on Thanksgiving a couple times when Arky comes to BR.

Also: A lot of businesses are getting on board with giving employees off on holidays, it seems. Media has kinda guilted the few places open on holidays into closing. (Rightfully so, IMO)

Lot of restaurant workers are high school/college kids.. some of which only get to go home and see family during the holidays off from school.

It is probably better for owners to give them that than to deal with the cluster of requests off.

Closing at 4.

I'm beginning to agree with you LA Lady... Looks like they are trying to make sure their employees are able to be home in the evening on the holidays. Which I applaud btw. I'll figure something out, wife may just have to go early. Or we will have to just cook something, problem is the MIL likes the traditional meal... I don't mind spending the money on it, just don't want to waste a bunch of food.
Maybe I can order small versions of the sides and just cook a turkey

One option is cornish hens. I've done that when making Thanksgiving type meals for just myself and one other person.

The hotels and casinos that serve Thanksgiving dinners, they're not serving in the evening? That might be your best bet, go to the Hilton or the Renaissance.
Also, maybe some catering places or grocery stores would serve smallish Thanksgiving dinners -- like enough food for 4? Maybe check with Frank's or a place like Calandro's

Yeah, I didn't even think about the casino. I worked L'Auberge on Thanksgiving a couple Thanksgivings ago, and I remember making bank.

People usually do Thanksgiving in the AM, and by nighttime, they're dying to get away from family.
